Hi folks,
I have heard on social networks people talk about building relationship before thinking about invite your friends buy a product or like your page.
It is really cool but I have absolutely no idea what it is and how to do it.
Is that like trust?
And what makes you trust somebody?

It depends on what kind of relationship you want to build. Most people in Internet Marketing, when they refer to building relationships, they most of times mean to build business relationships that will earn them their trust and they can eventually promote easily their products to them and generate a higher revenue than usual.

A synonym to 'building relationship' could be 'building/earning trust' through their longterm dedication to their fanbase.

That's a good question... But in order to answer it, you should think about yourself and how you react to other offers online... When it comes to online then I am sure that intrinsically all of us are skeptical in the first place, unless its a known brand such as G, FB, Amazon, Ebay, Coca-cola .... etc - whom have spent billions with building trust with consumers and on many channels from Web, TV, Radio. Newspapers, Magazines etc...

So with the above mentioned exception of known brands - ask yourself - why and who did you buy online from? What was it that made you make that plunge with purchasing?

Chances are that they provided great value straight off the bat... Really helpful tips, advice, helpful articles/videos and perhaps free reports/ebooks... and are fun and engaging when it comes to social media... They understand your pain points, have empathy which demonstrates expertise.... They build trust over time with a proven track record with interacting with you either via email, posted content and interacting on subscriber comments etc... in other words consistency being an important ingredient...

When surfing the web look at others and keep asking yourself this question - Do I trust them and why? ... Over time you'll identify and adopt an approach which will work.... Good luck ;-)

In social networks you meet people you do not know and people you have never seen. So posting valuable information to them before selling makes them think that you have good good intentions. So when you start selling to them they take it as a genuine deal because you also care for them as people not just to dig money from them. So relationship on social networks is about building trust.

yes Mark,

This is essential in social networks, when you give great value and advises people start to know, like and trust you.
This is how you build up good relationships with others.
People will give onto you and buy from you AFTER they know, like and trust you. You have to build up rapport first.

Hi Mark,

Lets say we became friends on FaceBook. Now if your looking to get into internet marketing, would you like me to provide some valuable things I know about marketing or would you like me to message you everyday with the greatest way to make money online?

I thinking you would like to learn a few things and get to know and trust me a little better. Now a week goes by and we have a relationship so then I sent you to one of my free courses which you signed up because you trust me and now when I send you affiliate offers, you are more like to buy because of the relationship.

The main problem with list building is not teaching anything, giving away a good free course, and then expecting you can spam the crap out of that email address. Build a relationship, help others, and the money will come.

Yep build trust with your connections. If you try to sell to them right away, chances are they are going to get annoyed and move on. Make sure and provide some tips and training. Give away some resell rights products and let them know you want to help them succeed. When they see that you are a real human who cares about their success, the money will follow.

I've been doing marketing for a long time and I have seen people come and go in this industry. 99% of the marketers that succeed has truly cared about helping others and understand the money will follow.

My pet hate is when someone sends you a private message and says here look at this it will make you a millionaire over night... Seriously and you call yourself a friend. Delete.
There are people that sell courses on the best way to approach people on facebook. I usually find people in groups that may be reaching out for help. I like to provide answers just like we do here. Soon enough those people reach out to me and start to ask for help. Now I can direct them to mey lead capture pages or my private facebok groups where i can continue to help them and provide them with value. Eventually if i have a product that I am doing well with they soon ask for more information and i usually get the sale

Gooood question! I was wondering the same a couple of years ago, I think it's about not automating but building real relationships; try to have conversations with people as if you would normally have offline. It's tricky, because people online want things now now now, however it's a strategy of investing yourself into quality conversations and caring about your audience.
