Optimizing a website must consider not only the keywords and target audience, but also a number of algorithms on which pages are indexed by search engines. To stay on top display targeted keywords, you need to optimize your page correctly, and avoid some mistakes that may attract penalties from Google.
Common SEO Mistakes
1. Content copied or irrelevant for readers
Like your page visitors, Google appreciates very much the content, but not just any content. If your website does not provide useful information, the text is not reliable, is copied from other sources and is full of grammatical errors, you have all chances to be penalized.
A properly optimized site provides quality content, useful and relevant to the topic or niche that, and original articles written by people with experience and authority in the online environment. Longer articles that educate the reader and are supported by solid references are more likely to be appreciated by visitors and search engines.
So if you're ready to hire an SEO company to optimize your site, make sure you have people in the team and able to provide quality content to avoid penalties and ease your way to leading positions in search pages. Although it may seem counterintuitive, when it comes to SEO content, quality counts, not quantity.
2. Excessive Optimization
Less is more, even when it comes to SEO. If the text on your website is full of keywords thrown into the page only for a higher density, you have all chances to be penalized. Similarly, if you include too many keywords in meta tags in an attempt to manipulate search engine results, you get the opposite effect. Attention therefore to "specialists" SEO keywords that place 10 times in a text 3 paragraphs.
3. Low quality backlinks, purchased or do too much in a short time
For a better positioning on key terms, backlinks can be very powerful tools, but even here should not abuse. Too many links that direct to a site built just may indicate either that you have bought (and I mean the many offers like "200 links for $15"), and that Google considers spam.
Similarly, comments thrown at random on the same niche blogs or forums just to be able to insert a link to your website, or articles posted in different directories can affect your optimization efforts. May I add here the famous exchange links (link exchange), often directing to very poor quality sites, internal links broken and hidden in various pages of your website.
In addition to these errors, excessive use of H1 tags, keywords too many header or footer placed in the site, and inappropriate placement of advertisements on your website can attract penalties from Google and affect your placement in search results.
