What is a good free program to make graphic designs?

I want to make a desgin on my computer that i can put on a t-shirt for my company. I was thinking if any one knew of a free program i can do this on....

When i started designing i used Gimp it's free but the results aren't as good as Photoshop or Pixelmator. If you looking for more of a drag and drop check out Laughing Bird Software.

photoshop elements is free i believe, check that out it might help you out a lot

GIMP. It's free, has tons of support and tutorials, runs on both Linux and Windows.
