Hey guys,

Do I need to enable Proxy DNS in Cloudflare to use Cloudflare SSL? I am just curious this if I use real IP address in DNS cloudflare but still can use SSL from them?

Yes you will need to enable proxy DNS, otherwise you can install cloudflare SSL manually, without using cloudflare proxy.

When PROXY DNS is off, then Cloudflare is only acting as DNS server for that record ie. bypassing cloudflare infra for it.

Yes, correct, to use Cloudflare SSL, you will need to enable it.

Afterward, you will be able to managed SSL level settings on the Cloudflare panel for that domain.

When you set your encryption mode to Full, Cloudflare permits HTTPS connections between your visitor and Cloudflare and connects to the origin using the scheme that the visitor has requested. Cloudflare connects to the origin using unencrypted HTTP if your visitor utilizes http, and vice versa.
