32 core server Intel Xeon
64gb DDR4 RAM
8TB hard drive
10gbit port for my own server

I think these sort of specs would be better for running virtual servers than a Cpanel web server right?

The reason I didn't set it up on the server before, Was because someone who i know in the hosting industry told me you canno run vps node on standard SATA HDD I need SSD?

Thoughts any ideas? Let me know thanks

They told me dedicated connection 10gbit port I don't believe but maybe because always never less than 9gbit speeds

One is a virtual server runs on an operating system such as centos with set resources like ram and CPU cores disk space etc taken from the main dedicated server that they run on.

cPanel shared webhosting is just regular web hosting with no root access to the operating system and no dedicated resources like ram CPU for that one account. It's just a web hosting account with a control panel such as cPanel.

For those that need a website or web script to run and be accessed online then shared webhosting is fine.

Oh another thing you can run web servers on virtual servers as well. So then you will have your own web server on a virtual server for a fraction of the cost of a dedicated server. Usually with less resources.

For example if the main dedicated server had 32gb ram and 20 CPU cores then a vps would take some of those resources for example 4gb ram and 4 CPU cores leaving the rest for other vps customers.

It might be slow with HDD for MySQL queries on cPanel if you've got a busy server, but a lot of VPS users are asking for SSD storage these days as well
