Namecheap is better.
Free Whois privacy.
Consistent renewal.
Free domain security
No upsells.

Godaddy is worse.
Up to double the renewal price.
Whois Privacy / Domain security and extra $20/yr
Many upsells during the order process.

Not a huge fan of either. NameCheap was definitely better though but I am liking what BigRock is doing right now with domain security and bulk sale. Also, domain transfer is much simpler through them.

I have just purchased a new domain from Namecheap with price $9.06, it is fast and price is better than Godaddy. I would go with Namecheap now.

I have been using Dynadot since almost the day they were founded.

  • Easy to use system lots of features
  • Free Privacy Protection
  • Renewal prices are never jacked up after first year. You pay the same price as the first year unless you get a deal on first year.
  • Great support
  • Constantly improving what they offer
  • No upsells shoved in your face like GoDaddy does.
NameCheap is not to bad I have purchased a few domains there over the years and had a few pushed to me that I purchased on auctions.

I do buy some at GoDaddy when they run their ultra-cheap sales and within 2 months or so I transfer them over to Dynadot which adds another year of registration.

I don't get the point of this at all...

Dynadot's transfer prices are higher than their first year registration prices for every TLD I checked (pricelist)

So, even if you get it a cheap sale price from GoDaddy, you are still paying whatever that sale price is, plus more to Dynadot than you would to have just registered it with them in the first place

Also you can't normally transfer a domain name for 60 days after it has been registered, so how do you do it within a month?

Dynadot Transfer for .com is 9.99 and normal domain registration fluctuates depending on special. So if I get a domain at GoDaddy I pay sometimes .99 cents which I have many times. Instead of keeping this domain at GoDaddy which costs me $19 to renew. That means a two year registration for a domain at GoDaddy is basically $20 and every year I renew there is also $19. Over the course of 10 years my registration fees would be about $172. Now if I transfer to Dynadot my first two years cost me about $11 and over a total of 10 years I pay only about $91. I save $81 in domain registration fees and I manage all my domains under the same control panel.

Current renewal prices at GoDaddy are $19.17 for a .com. Current renewal prices for Dynadot are $9.99.

30 days was my mistake and you are right it is 60 and even given that the numbers still work the same.

Both NameCheap and GoDaddy deliver excellent results when it comes to customer service. You may contact their customer service team in a variety of ways. These options are, of course, easily available through the website. Emails, tickets, and live chat are all supported by NameCheap. Aside from that, they offer a knowledge base that is neatly organized by topic.
NameCheap also offers a variety of blog posts and FAQs. Finally, I used their live chat feature to further test their customer care services. NameCheap offers a fantastic live chat service that is virtually immediate. In addition, the customer support representative was quickly available with detailed information on domain registration and relevant information.

I've spoken to a huge amount of people who disagree with that statement, and my own experience when dealing with them for a client also was far from great.

I use Dynadot and Namecheap. They both have cheap prices for all of the major domain areas.

Namecheap is better than Godaddy.

In short, Namecheap is a leading domain name registrar that offers cheap and trustworthy domain and hosting services.

Both are the best domain names providers but I would recommend Host.co.in. one of the best hosting and domain name provider in India.

Hello,

While selecting the domain name, you have to be very careful. A domain name becomes your brand in the future. There are plenty of the best and most affordable domain registrars available in the market, you just need to choose the right one according to your requirements. Namecheap and GoDaddy are very well known brands to register your domain name.
GoDaddy normally give you the discount on the first year of the domain registration but at the time of renewal they will charge actual price of the domain name.

GoDaddy is good no doubt. Though I have a little bit of experience using NameCheap.
