I want to send a backup file more than 80GB to a friend but with normal way, it took so much time to upload a file to a web hosting via FTP programs or I could not upload to Google drive because they only accepted 5GB for free space. What is the best way to upload large files quickly?

Is that file in your PC or in your server?

You only have two options - either you send the file directly via some peer-to-peer software, or upload it somewhere and let your friend get it from there. As you said, your Google drive doesn't have enough space, so you either need a paid plan, or if you have your own server with enough space, you can upload it there and give them access to download. I really can't think of any other options you may have in this case.

You are right about Google drive, I used Amazon s3 to upload but after 2 days, when it is going to be complete, it failed by session expired :( I think I need to split the file to upload.

If you like go to a DC and toll upload your back up. Home internet is pretty slow, you could go to a DC and for a fee rent out an IP on their network using their infrastructure to send the file. Of course this is one way, there others as well.

Get a USB stick put the data in there and send to your friend via regular post service, might be easier for you then ;)

Yes it is the simplest way to send file to a person but how you can decide when you can get your USB back to use it :D, it is not convenient.

Last weekend i saw a usb stick with 128GB space for 19.99€, still cheaper than a server :) TBH, there are alot of alternatives but the OP is too lazy to find them out.

Yeah a truck has the highest bandwidth of anything available right now. This thread was started 9 days ago. You could have ordered a high capacity usb stick and copied the files over and send it to him overnight and he would have had it by now.

You can purchase storage VPS, Install the FTP server, and upload files into parts.

You can create 80 parts or better create 160 parts. 7zip or RAR can create file into parts, and it will be easy to extract into one file.

Do not forget to set your FTP client software to resume operation if failed.
