If the mentioned software runs successfully on local windows machine, it would be not any issue to run on same OS in cloud/outside of your office/subnet. Maybe you should check with software developers for reliable answer.

It's definitely possible. Running software on Cloud server is not that much different from running the software locally.

It depends on the accounting software requirements. In most cases it would run no matter if it is local or cloud hosting.

I asked them, they used a local server and using remote desktop to access program. Is cloud server with windows server better than a local server using remote desktop connection?

It all depends. If you think you may need a quick way to scale the resources, then cloud is the way to go.

Obviously, access to a local server would be faster (in network terms). However, as I said, Cloud servers are easier to scale - you just add resources to it, and they're ready in an instant, while with a local server you'd need to order additional hardware to upgrade it.

And yes, Windows based Cloud servers can be accessed using RDP.

It depends on the location of the server but probably you already know and still it would not be as fast as local however it would not be that much slow that life would be tough as long as the server is not physically too far

I have used a bunch of hosting services and I can tell you one thing, it depends on how much lucky you are to find the best service. I managed to find a really good service with a fair price at Routerhosting. I can not add the link but I suggest you to check it out on google.
