Hi,

A VPS is usually a virtual private server hosted on a dedicated server node. With KVM Virtualization the best reperesentation would be a cake devided into slices.

A cloud server is technically a virtual server hosted on a high avaliability cluster made up of several dedicated servers.

A dedicated server is a bare metal solution where you are hosted directly on the server node without any virtualization. The key benefit is performance.

1. Dedicated servers are physical servers and we have the complete server for our own websites. we are more secure and perform better. we'll be able to configure the hosting environment our wish.
2. A virtual private server is a virtual machine as a service provide by Internet hosting service. A VPS runs its own copy of an operating system, and we have superuser-level access to that operating system instance, so they can install almost any software that runs on that OS.
3. Cloud server is available on internet and allows us to access the data from any location. we pay for the services we use.

A dedicated server is a real machine with dedicated resources.

A VPS is a virtual machine inside a dedicated server, a software in the dedicated server split the resources in several parts and create virtual machines (VPS).

A cluster of dedicated servers is a cloud. You use the resources of all dedicated servers at the same time. It can be private so only you can use the resources of the cloud, or it can be public so several users can use the ressources.

Dedicated Server - a kind of hosting, in which a dedicated physical server is provided for use by the client. Its owner gets full administrative access to the machine, can install any operating systems, including non-standard builds of distributions, and also has the ability to make changes to the BIOS settings. Typically, dedicated servers are used to deploy complex projects (for example, corporate portals with back-office functions for employees), cloud services, and high-performance business applications.

Shared hosting involves placing a large number of sites within a single hardware and software platform. In other words, one physical server provides dozens and hundreds of independent sites. Being the cheapest, it is ideal for beginner projects and sites with low traffic (business cards, portfolio), but it also has a number of limitations. Unlike VPS / VDS, users of shared tariffs do not have the ability to change software settings (as a rule, business is limited only by htaccess directives), add specific libraries or modify the kernel of the operating system. In addition, server resources are distributed evenly among all participants, which can lead to serious performance degradation.

VDS / VPS is a service where each hosting client gets at his disposal his own virtual machine, which is controlled in exactly the same way as working with a physical one. The presence of root access (provides super administrator rights) allows you to make almost any changes to the settings and composition of existing software. At the same time, the cost of a virtual VPS server is much lower than a dedicated lease, which makes it an ideal transitional option for dynamically developing projects and hosting applications that present specific requirements for the software environment.

VPS is related to shared hosting in multiple website share the resource on a single physical server while VPS plan are cheaper. While in Dedicated server means that are dedicated to your own personal use Dedicated hosting is costly than VPS
for Security reason.

Cloud server are found on internet and it can be access the data at any location

Dedicated server are more secure than VPS server Most of the virus effect on single user account
In performance VPS can scale your hardware as per your needs and setup add-on tools whereas dedicated hosting server are not easy as vps to scale and maintain Dedicated server is best server and perfect for hosting

on a cloud you can scale the resources too and much higher than a VPS. You can have more resources on a cloud than a dedicated server because you are using the resources of multiple dedicated servers.

The full form of VPS is a Virtual Private Server. As the name suggests, hosting providers provide a virtual server on a physical server to host a website. So hosting providers logically create many virtual servers for their clients on a single physical server.

In Cloud hosting service, hosting providers provide a Cloud environment to clients to host a website. Cloud hosting plans are set up on the fail-over cluster. That means you'll have another live version of your website. So if your site would go offline due to any consequences, your host can load the website immediately from a parallel server in the same cluster. It wouldn't be possible if the site is hosted on storage like SATA, SSD.

A dedicated server means an actual physical server to get a site hosted. So, in this case, the hosting provider gives you an entire server with full root access. It isn't a virtual one and not shared with anyone. So you'll get full authority and privilege to act on the whole server.

I am sure this will help a lot to differentiate.

Dedicated server close to metal implementation , as like the name implies, the servers are separate bare metal dedicated hardware to the customer. The customer get access to a physical server with the agreed upon hardware specifications which solely dedicated to the server that only.

VPS servers logical servers, created on physically shared hardware node machine. The customer would have to pay for the shared resource allocated for the VPS, multiple clients often share one physical host Node and each VPS isolated with virtualization layer. From the client’s perspective a VPS barely differs from a dedicated server with a comparable low to mid-range configuration, with wide range of configurations compared to dedicated servers.

Cloud servers often confused with the VPS, as both are based on virtualization and comes with many of the same advantages. In dedicated servers and most virtual private servers, the storage disks and the processing power are all may be on one physical host machine, but with cloud servers the storage backend and the compute nodes run separately. This provides many advantages such as high scalability and redundancy, over the traditional virtualization platforms .

In short: dedicated server is a physical bare metal server, vps is a virtual container hosted on a dedicated server, cloud server is a server hosted on a cluster distributed between several dedicated servers or even several datacenters.
