How many of you use SSL certificate for your website? This is obviosly a question to site owners not to providers, who must have the highest possible level of website security.

Why don't you create a poll for this question? for type of this question, you might get more answers with Yes or No only.

The best way to know how many percentages of websites are using DSL out there is using Google. try to find with a keyword and see Top 100 results. There are how many sites are using certificates and you will got the answers for your questions.

It is SSL, not "DSL" and if I wanted to create a Poll, I would do that. You advise is irrelevant. I think that you'd better not offer advise on something that you cannot do yourself. The are no Top 100 results which answer the question "How many of you use SSL certificate for your website?" and I believe that if you care about ForumWeb. hosting and want it to be a community with meaningful discussion, you'd better contribute based on quality.

Hi. Today every site need SSL. If your site dont have SSL, Chrome writes in the address bar that the connection is not secure, Firefox warns users that it is better don't enter authorization data. Which user will like it? Btw, nowadays, with free SSL like Let's encrypt, installing a certificate does not require any costs and takes several minutes.

This has nothing to do with you response! You said "The best way to know how many percentages of websites are using DSL out there is using Google" and this is an information which Google does not provide, so please do not mislead forum users in your responses! The fact that 30 or 50 websites started using SSL ("Not moved to SSL").

The other part of you answer "...try to find with a keyword and see Top 100 results. There are how many sites are using certificates and you will got the answers for your questions." is also irrelevant. My question was to ForumWeb members and it reads "How many of you use SSL certificate for your website?". This was my question, which is about start a discussion between us. I did not ask you to send me to Google to search about something which cannot be found.

Yes Google didn't provide that but it is showing you result and percentages, you saw 30 websites on first 3 pages of Google search result? if yes, all of them are using https for their sites, that mean 100% of sites is using https, you can search something else there as you want and see how many sites are using https and from that, you know number of percentages of sites with https.

My questions was "How many of you use SSL certificate for your website?". Do you read those before posting? No one asked you to calculate how many websites ranked in Google use SSL certificates and the conclusion that if 30 of the top ranked websites use SSL, this means that "100% of sites is using https" is not true. There is no proportion here and even if it was, it is not the way to calculate it. still this conversation we are having has nothing to do that you did not answer the question and simply changed the topic of the thread.

I'd like to believe that every new user on the internet knows - SSL is a great addition to the website, which you can get for a free nowadays. Most of the hosting panels offer easy installation. cPanel even installs the AutoSLL automatically, once you add the domain. If someone doesn't use SSL by now, it's most likely due to lack of knowledge about the SSL.

To put it simply, if you want your websites be felt secured to visit, it is required for your website to have an SSL. It not only increases reliability of your site to the visitors, but also helps in secure transfer of data in between the server and the visitor's browser. It's totally upto you to decide whether or not to go with the SSL certificate in your site. What's more, SSL is highly preferred by the entreprise however, it is less valued by small and medium sized business.

According to the data from Google Transparency Report, as of January 2022, over 98% of web traffic on Chrome on all major operating systems is protected with HTTPS, which requires the use of SSL/TLS certificates. This indicates that the vast majority of websites today are using SSL/TLS certificates to secure their connections and protect their users' data.

Moreover, major companies and organizations, including Google, Mozilla, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), have been advocating for a more secure web by promoting the use of HTTPS and encouraging website owners to adopt SSL/TLS certificates. As a result, the use of SSL/TLS certificates has become more common and is now considered a best practice for website security.

The question is supposed to be like this "How many of you still use Paid SSL?" everyone has SSL on their websites, and if they don't that means their website almost no longer exists over the search engines.

And yes we do use EV SSL for our website.

EV SSL certificates have become less popular in recent years due to the availability of Domain Validated (DV) and Organization Validated (OV) SSL certificates, which are easier and faster to obtain and still provide a basic level of security for websites. Additionally, some browsers, such as Google Chrome, have removed the green address bar from EV SSL certificates, which has further reduced their prominence. So, I don't see EV SSL on websites and for your website, too.

EV SSL certificates are mostly used by large enterprises and financial entities like banks and electronic money institutions. An EV SSL makes sense if you process a large volume of online transactions or operate in highly regulated industries.
