Great question! When looking for a good hosting provider the top 10 things I look for are:

  1. Quality customer service - go out and beyond for the customer.
  2. Quality products - What I mean by this is what are you offering, and are they listed for a reasonable price.
  3. Documentation!
  4. Monthly deals for both new and existing customers.
  5. Friendly user interfaces.
  6. Clear and simple Terms of Service.
  7. 24/7 support, either via your site or a social media platform e.g Twitter or Facebook.
  8. Website application installs support - Not everyone is capable of installing forum software, or Wordpress. Offer services to help customers with this, but for a reasonable price.
  9. Don't restrict customers to too many features. Let some breathing room.
  10. Be professional but add some fun. Like fun emojis in announcements or posts like this :).

For a normal user, price range from $10 to $20/ month is good.
Live chat support
Easy to setup and configurations
Managed services.
No downtime

Just a few, I think it is good enough for me to have a new hosting.

The first thing people look for is the popularity of the web hosting brand (provider). This is very important. The second one is the well-designed web hosting service plan (when it comes to Shared Hosting). And then they are looking at the price and want to get as cheaper as possible, which is sad because "cheap" means a compromise with the quality.

Thank you for this question!

According to a survey we conducted a while ago:

1. Plans & prices (hosting types, hardware, type of virtualization, bandwidth)
2. Service value (what you got for your budget: cPanel, managed or not, back up)
3. Equipment & Data center-class
4. Uptime
5. Network infrastructure and uplinks
6. Support & feedback system
7. Additional services (individual server configuration, DDoS-protection, data warehouse etc.)
8. Reviews about the hosting provider and quality of technical support
9. Price-off & promo
10. Brand (everything connected with a name, design, and history of a company)

I believe these are the key factors:
  • 24/7 customer support;
  • Stability;
  • Scalability;
  • Security;
  • Flexibility of the most common settings: Apache, PHP, etc;
  • Resource monitoring;
There are a lot more things that could be added but I think they depend on the individual situation.

I am a web hosting client and when I choose a new hosting for my websites, I consider some important points are:
- 100% uptime
- Fast loading
- Price is suitable to my budget, normally $5 to $8 for a shared hosting is good, $25/month for a VPS.
- Support (live chat or ticket)

Just my 0.000002 cents!

You may come across many suggestions while you are seeking the services of a web hosting provider. Many will even advise that better the price, better will be served, so go for the expensive ones. But that doesn’t always prove right.

Here are 6 ‘S’s of choosing the right web hosting services provider for your business.

1)Speed
2)Service Level Agreement
3)Support
4)Specialty
5)Stability
6)Security
