Hi folks,

My questions is both to those who use IT infrastructure and to those who create and provision it.

To users/consumers: Have you explored the benefits of using dedicated computing resources as Virtual Dedicated Servers with external storage (concept similar to the VPS/VMs) in a clustered environment, rather than using physical dedicated servers?

To fellow providers: Have the virtualized service you provide increased as percentage of your client base? You'd share the technologies in use (we run VMare powered infrastructure for example).

Cheers

I've tried those VDS and to be honest I dont really see the need of it other than it being a VPS with much more storage, which in the case I need storage I would opt myself for a dedicated server. To me a VDS feels like paying a considerably price for something that's not fully yours whilst it could be.
