What I do is to ask questions. First I need to know if they have social media account, If there is I check for comments and reviews to have an idea if they're legit. Second I ask if they are willing for meet-ups because based from experience scammers hate meet-ups. If you are buying shoes like Jordan shoes of Nike, there is a group of professionals in the social media who you can ask if the product is legit or not or you can even ask if they can vouch the host.

I always ask for a legit check. I learned and practice this since I was scammed. I also check on its proof of transaction and followers. But for COD's, I really don't mind checking on the sellers' legitimacy. Rather, I am on to the products quality.

You can check their business stability, how much time they are in the market, reviews, website/domain age and so on. There are lots of ways you will find to justify a company. Google can play a good role to help you out. Just search their name in Google and you will have an idea about the company.

If you will search online, you will get the reviews of their hosting service. You can also check on their website. If possible, you can contact their current customers and can directly ask for the review.

Social media is one of the best medium to check the review of the service. You can visit their page on the social media and will come to know about their service and support.

Nowadays, the number of individuals getting involved in reselling businesses online is ascending. At this rate, awareness of host legitimacy is necessary.

Reviews from previous resellers could help. Setting an appointment personally is also helpful because based on experience, scammers are not a fan of meet up especially if you'll ask for valid identification cards. In addition, official receipts and vouchers from the host could also be a proof of him/her being legit. Social media profiles could secure you as well that you're making business with a legal host.

A tip to avoid scammers or illegitimate hosts, don't give important details such as credit card numbers or bank account.

Do some research and read some reviews. Once you have decided whom to transact with, be cautious in giving personal details. Make sure they provide you proofs of legitimacy and the products they have sold.

You can check their profiles if they already have some proofs of success transactions, or maybe ask some of his/her customers who already avail the exact product. You have to know the important information of that seller or reseller for your safety purposes.

Hey Yahm,

That's a hard thing to do nowadays, we have to really do our own research when buying something online before purchasing from resellers. We can always check their website ( if they have some ) - usually they do, then check customers' reviews and feedback about them ( this would help a lot ). Search on their Social Media sites and search engines, see everything you can from those resources.

There is a huge issue with legitimacy in general nowadays, im not sure why it attracts so many seedy types of people. A good one to check is if they are registered as a business, I know not everyone is but the vast majority of hosts who will be around for a while will go to the effort of registering.

Research about the seller would really help but I think what makes them earn much of your trust would be the reviews and comments of the clients and consumers. I myself is an active online customer and reviews about the item I wanna purchase really affect my decision to buy. Most specially when a customer says " I would highly recommend...blah..blah! A 100% trusted seller.."and all that are reason enough to go with the purchase. I call it reputation.

Look for a social media account. This platform can give you somekind if honest review of the host. Analyze the page and try to decipher if its flawed or not. Make sure that the reviews on the page was also legitimate.Don't stick to one social media platform. Look for other avenues where the seller is reviewed. Most sellers have more than one social media account. Make sure your not the first one to buy. If the seller is legit, he should have some kind of a good reputation around the community. Lastly, research about the offers the seller had given you. Some sellers who have good reputation and legitimate offers 'cash on delivery' and the likes.

Social media is a great platform for resellers to market their products and services. Many of them we don't really know personally. There's also many scams online. So we should be really careful. First, check the seller for reviews. Check how long they exist in the market. Trusted resellers for sure have many reviews from clients. You can also check on the likes and comments if you know someone. YOu can message them and ask about that specific seller. If they do cash on delivery, most likely it's legit because they are willing to do that. You can also check their linked personal social media accounts to check for legitimacy. Many of legit sellers also use bank transfers for transactions. It's a big check to prove they're legitimate.

To make sure that the Reseller is legit, you should really try your best to know all the details, make sure that you know what you need to consider ,If you are interested in the item that they are selling, Ask to talk on the phone,Ask for a meet up,know their Social media account,Don't make a payment Via Money transfer or Remmitances only, better to do this via Bank account for your payment's security, and also bank account helps you to trace the real person whom you are dealing with. Ask about the Product's disadvantages or advantages that it will help you to lead to some personal information about the reseller, feel their level of trustworthiness.hope it helps!

I am not really fond of buying things online but I have a friend who always but things online. I think you should research first about the host if it is really legit. You know nowadays there are a lot online businesses and not all of them are true. If you encounter an online business and your not sure of it try to read the comments about the store and if your are still not contented with what you read then try the online businesses that are already known and popular like Lazada.

Verify the account, and do some legitimate check if it's really an legitimate seller or a scam. I've been to online reselling before, And I did these, so far until I stopped, I was never scammed. And one more thing, you are in business, in business there's lose, there's also prospering, so you really need to gamble, you'll never know if you are a good seller if you'll never gamble. And trusting is gambling, so part of being a seller is to trust your supplier. If he/she scammes you, accept it, that's part of business, but if he/she give you your merchandize in exchange with the money you gave them, that's much better.

To know the reseller is legit without knowing them personally, first check the reviews and comments from his/her clients. It is good to get his/her social media accounts to know him/her well. Also, asks your friends or collegues if they know that person or if they do any transaction with that reseller. These are the ways im doing to know if that reseller is legit and this will do as what I have experience. Lastly, never give your personal details also your any financial accounts if you are not sure yet to that reseller.

Try to check the span of there operation, if the social media they are using is quite long enough and the feedbacks of their previous customers are good then you have a legit host. try to search for more information. why not ask for their complete address. Try meetups and try to approach their customers for additional knowledge on how they operate.
