How can one set up a URL redirect to point a domain to files on one's own server?

Once upon a time, Google Drive allowed for web hosting, but discontinued that feature so that others might set up apps and websites through the Google App Engine.

I tried to deploy an app with no success despite following the instructions of this tutorial:

I need some help. The files are still ready to go. I have the domain names.

Does anyone have recommended workarounds?
