Hello Guys! I am new in this business and the knowledge that I have about Web Hosting is limited to the basic definition of Web Hosting, which is borrowing/renting the server, so I don't have to pay a hefty amount for my own website since I am just starting. It's all too confusing to me but I am getting the hang of it, especially when I launched my first Blog and it looks cool just the visual image of it, is satisfying.

As I venture into the world of Web Hosting I want to know the Pros and Cons. I'd like to know if I am the only one who can access my website under the Web Host that I am using. Will I get the full potential of the website that I created in the first place? Because the reason that I created that website is for me to earn money and the exposure I need.

Well yes, you SHOULD be the only one who can access your website under whatever host you choose. With the exception of the company owners or admins themselves, who might need to go in just in case anything happens like log-in problems, etc. But even after that, you are advised to change your password from the new one they assign you in the case of technical difficulties. As for revenue, some hosts don't allow you to advertise on your site if you're on FREE hosting. Which is why it's important to be on a paid plan. On a paid plan, all advertising revenue is yours. However there are content restrictions. Even on a paid plan, some hosts won't allow you to advertise gambling, porn, drug or firearm related products.

If you can spend more time to learn web hosting, it would be very easy for you. You just need to invest your time to learn it as a newbie. Once your website is hosted on a server, anyone in the world would be able to access it. You can restrict access to your website using certain features.

I would suggest you to play around with web hosting and with the help of google, you can be an expert :)
Note : Hardwork is the key for anything!

Web hosting has the vast scope but if you start learning then it's very easy. You should have the knowledge of the some server commands because somethings get easily managed by the commandline access.

When you will host the site and update the appropriate DNS settings then all users in the world can browse your website as it will become live after that. Your hosting panel is accessed by you only as it will have the authentication provided.

The type of privileges which you will get after hoisting the site are depend on, for which type of service you've signed up. But unless you will host your site, you can not earn the money. Because it will reach to people after you will make it live.

I would say web hosting is newbie friendly because of the number of website building platforms it can support. You could create a website with the use of html, wordpress, drupal, joomla, and magento and they'd all still be compatible with web hosting services. Getting the full potential of your hosting product would be entirely up to you since it requires a bit of online marketing to get exposed to a larger target market. There are also factors you'd have to consider such as the overall security of your site like adding SSL Certificate coverage to ensure customers are at ease when placing sensitive information into your site, investing in SSL also gets your prioritized among Google Search Results since I've heard "Secure" websites are known to be ranked higher than non-secure ones.

For a hosting newbie i would surrgest you go though a web host that has a control panel that is really easy to use and can help you out if you have any issue or get stuck.
Controls panels like Cpanel and Plesk would be my suggestion as they are built for the users that are not knowledgeable with command line and configuring.
Shared hosting would be the best start for this as well.

WordPress is a great choice since there is so much support and info to be found on it. It's easy to learn and you can do just about anything with it.As for hosting, look for a host with great support, you will need it at times and poor support really sucks. Namecheap hosting has been the best I have dealt with and I have used over 20 different hosts.

Web Hosting is not friendly to newbies because you need experience and knowledge of it. Therefore you need to devote your time of studying it. And then you need to invest to it because you need to pay for the host. This is not and easy task for newbies and it is requiring a lot of time management and discipline. You shoul be industrious too to finish it. This is a process that you need to undergo.
