Hello,

Good Afternoon!

Can any one tell which is best to design a website with catchy look i.e: HTML 5/CSS Based or any CMS based.

As i know simple HTML5/CSS based website wont have any issue related to security.

As I know web design trending now is HTML5 + CSS (using Boostrap) + Wordpress (CMS)
Of course is you need to know PHP programming to create dynamic sites and do whatever you want on your websites.

HTML5 + CSS would be the best as it would have less load times and less security holes. However, it takes some amount of knowledge and definitely more time to add/edit content to your liking.

Wordpress makes everything simple, has numerous plugins, however, would have a bigger system overhead cost ( needs more CPU/RAM etc ), and the obvious security flaws.

If you do go the Wordpress route, make sure to keep EVERYTHING up to date, and use a really long password, with capitals and numbers and symbols, so people can't just hack into your Wordpress

Wordpress CMS got some decent plugins and free templates. Just keep your plugins updated and remove ASAP those you do not need. As these would become security flaws when they become out of date.

Find a template you like and customize it using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript if you want full customization control. BootStrap is great for framework, and jQuery makes JavaScript a lot simpler and less time consuming. WordPress is super glitchy with a lot of security issues. WordPress sites can become really slow with a lot of plugin use.

If you're after looks, you could setup a WP or Joomla website in 10 minutes, I'll do the same thing if someone ask me to setup a simple website for him, if the website is deer to your heart stick with PHP and CSS, although the content management going to be a bit hard.

With CMS you could buy plugins that help you secure your website, although a simple HTML/CSS/Jquery website might be more secure, but not every one knows how to implement security measures in they're HTML/CSS/Jquery.
For the October CMS I have look it up, it dosen't have many plugins, but I'll try it, it could be faster then other CMSs.

There aren't alternatives, you have to build your site with HTML/CSS. You should also look into Jade and Sass to improve your productivity and write less code for the same output.

HTML is basic of web-designing. You can create the basic site with HTML, when you would like to go for various complicated functionalities then you will need the script and 1000 lines of code.

CSS is needed for defining the layout for your web site. SO HTML and CSS are basics of web-designing.

Instead of that you can go with CMS (Content Management System), those are just one button click installation. WordPress, Joomla, Magento are some of the popular CMS. You can download many free templates/themes and customize them easily for your website.

HTML5 and CSS is the best combination when it comes to designing of website. It will help you satisfy the looks at the same time for the visitors of your website. CSS gives you the best transitions which will impress you and visitors in its abilities to beautify your website. You can customize anything because there are lots of codes in HTML5 together with CSS or cascading style sheet.
