I'm not using Google Domain services and don't think it will replace GoDaddy, but it sure will become one of the "top dogs". From my point of view more the merrier, as the competition rises it's better for clients we'll have more options :duel:

If they provide the same level of service than with Google Compute Engine, it will probably be a very good domain provider. The main feature seems to be the full integration with Google Apps.
But there is no comparison between GoDaddy and Google, you have just to check the SSL notation of GoDaddy to understand you should not go with them

Google offering domains from a long time, but they are not focusing much on marketing it and also the domain management part and customer support is almost non existent. Google can capture entire domain market easily, but it seems they are not intersted in it. Only they upsell it with blogger.

And they are still not offering easy way to host wordpress cms on their cloud, most users (blogspot) users migrate to self hosted wordpress after some traffic and succeess, at that point of time. Google can offer hosting and domain and capture the market, but it is not thinking in this way. So I do not think they will capture the market soon.

I used Google Domains for one of my domains and it's okay. It's just like any other provider nothing really "special."

They did have great support when I used their services, however. :)

Google does not offer domains, only domain registration -- they are Enom resellers (as far as I can tell from my clients). GoDaddy is a true domain registrar -- or has google finally become an actual registrar?

First time i heard that "Google" will start offering domain registration? Is that official?
In past there was Yahoo domains i dont know if that still exist but they was offering cheap domains somedays.
I dont think someone will replace GoDaddy but Enom is also cool.
