Hi Guys, I want to try a dedicated server start from 8GB or 16GB RAM, I want to know how is the power of a dedicated and how it will help to improve the performance for my sites. Can you guys tell me some provider names that offering dedicated servers in USA, EU or CA. How about their pricing? I would check some before purchasing one.

What type of processor are you looking for as well as the budget?

Do you currently have a server in place? (Shared, VPS or otherwise)
If you do currently have a server in place what specs is it?

What type of sites are you currently hosting?
Is there any large files on them? (bigger then 5gb?)

Where are you currently hosting your sites?

If you have any more questions do get back to us.

My budget is limited, range from $50 to $70

I read this post https://forumweb.hosting/13126-vultr-vs-ovh-vs-ramnode-vs-linode-vs-digitalocean.html and bought a VPS from Ramnode but their support is low or no support, maybe they are unamanged VPS.

I bought this package from them
8192MB SVZS 8192 / 256 MB 2 Cores 1 /64 200 GB 5000 GB $56 / mo

What type of sites are you currently hosting?
eCommerce websites, web and mobile apps offers.

Is there any large files on them? (bigger then 5gb?)
No. I don't have more than 10GB of data for all files

Do you need a control panel?
How many IPs?
How much disk space?
Other requirements?
1 IP address, 20 GB storage, managed services.

Ramnode is an unmanaged provider, yes. Most providers will provide basic support such as rebooting the server/reinstalling OS and making sure the network and hardware itself is fine, but if you need more than that you need managed providers.

You don't really need dedicated server unless your website/apps have huge amount of traffic. Even then, i know several people who host their mobile apps from DO/Linode instance.

If you still want dedicated and want it managed, it will cost you :D Liquidweb service starts at $199, Dreamhost at $149, and that's just the two that i know. Others might chime in on smaller managed dedicated providers but it's not gonna be any less expensive.

Managed VPS, on the other hand, there is a bunch. I believe @energizedit offer that service, and looking at the offers section there are hostxnow and milesweb as well.

I think it's gonna help if you state what specific kind of support do you need though. :)

HI Mihai,

Your what type of support are you needing for the VPS? (you will get basic support by the host if you come into any issues.)

You are probably better off getting a shared hosting account and storing the files on that as it will reduce your current costs to us.
Shared hosting is a managed platform by the hosting provider.
You can host multiple sites from a unique IP address and have the SSL cert free of charge.

What would you think of that idea?

VPS are mainly for people who know what they are doing unless you pay for a managed service.

That is a good idea but I afraid of using shared hosting because it is low security and the loading speed for my websites won't be good.

Since you already have a VPS with 8GB of RAM that should suite your needs. Unless the node your VPS is on is maxed out and not performing well. Moving to a dedicated server will help this some. I'm not sure you are going to get the specs you need at the price point you are talking about.

Well there are lots of providers offering cheap dedicated, i will mention some below:

EUROPE:

OVH.com
Online.net
servdiscount.com
oneprovider.com
and many more.

USA:

Nocix.net
Volumedrive.com
Quickpacket.com
and many more.

And many more, this will help in one way to be fast your site but note you need to optimise your site/server mysqls databases etc in order to speed up your site. A dedicated server nor vps will not do magic to speed up your site unless you optimise it.

I used shared hosting and using it for several websites but this is not my best choice.
VPS or dedicated server is my number one choice because it helps websites growing with traffic and improving performance.
Shared hosting accounts are just for started websites.

Yes Ramnode is an unmanaged and I controled parts on the VPS but I faced some problems I could not solve and had to ask for supporting.
But they said, it is unmanaged VPS thus they could not support.

yes I want to try a dedicated server to see how it is different from a VPS.

Thanks for sharing great list, I would have a look on per website and offers.

I never used Hetzner before, how their services compare with OVH.com or Online.net dedicated servers?

Their dedicated servers are decent, you can also get a server on Hetzners server auction from a previous custom configuration. However their international bandwitdh is not as good when you compare it to the OVH network.

If cheap is your main goal go for Kansas Wholesale Internet.

Cheapest in your budget would be to go with OVH, Leaseweb ( Resellers ) and Online.net

Check out the Hudson Valley Host bargain bin offers. I have had a very good past experience with them considering the price.

hi,

I have linux dedicated server in USA and I run my web hosting bussines....
You can try databasebydesignllc, they have Enterprise Class Hard Drives, Memory, Power Supplies and Server Chassis.

Their rates are affordable and the servers are very stable. There is also a possibility for a FREE WHM / Cpanel

If you want Windows server, my recommendation is vpswebserver company ...

The best advice I can offer is to weigh the importance of the data you are intending to host against the importance of saving money. In my experience, you get what you pay for, in that the cheapest services are generally not well supported or reliable.

You can certainly find great hosts with affordable services, but generally they will not be offered at the bottom-of-the-barrel price points. Because, let's be honest, there's some cost associated with maintaining quality network, security, support, infrastructure...
