Should I get the cheapest car? computer? ice cream? Well if you want something that will be utterly disappointing and probably dysfunctional then go for it. In all seriousness, it is like anything else. Generally you get what you pay for. If you need **** then you can pay near nothing. If you need something decent then prepare to pay a more middle of the market price.

When shopping for a dedicated server is it best to get the cheapest dedicated server that has the same specs or are there other things to consider?
You must specify the location of the server, you can get a cheap price, but for the quality you have to pay attention

I think this topic has pretty well been covered by everyone. Of course, there are always other things to look for, but unfortunately for most of us, these have to fit within a budget. There's nothing wrong with price shopping, just be aware that when you cut corners, something has to give.

If the price is too good to be true, well chances are it might just be so.

You just will get what you pay for. If you get a 'too cheap to be true' server, do not expect any kind of support once you've an issue.

Finding the right balance between pricing and what you get for is what you should seek. Contacting a provider before purchasing is always a good idea, to get a first touch with them and see how they react.

You can go with cheap but before doing so, do some homework about reviews. Like, Hetzner has cheap price but very good review ! They have been rock-solid to Me.
