I would go with $5 a month for 1GB, if you are looking to sell web hosting you will never make any money at $10 a year.

I'm more of a big fish type of guy I'm thinking of starting up a shared hosting line which will be $5/$10 a year plans for now its not really about the profit I have capital to last for years if I do open a line. I'm more so inclined to know if there is really a demand for it is my question not monthly but annually.

I think this plan is possible for small sites and maybe more people will like this offer.
I used $1/ month approx $12/year for a shared hosting plan in the past but it limited number of sites or databases, I only can host 1 site with this plan.

I think it might have worked back in the day when "unlimited diskspace" wasn't around, and that 1GB was a lot back then, and most sites were around 20MB is size, but too many sites use way too many resources like CPU, diskspace and bandwidth these days, and so I don't think there's any point in offering only 1GB no matter how cheap it is. Those none the wiser don't like limits, and they'll be the ones you want to attract, because those technical enough would already know of the best providers to use who offer lots of diskspace, excellent support and unlimited bandwidth for affordable prices.

You'd certainly get some interest in it, but I don't think you'd make much profit on it, and all it will do is use up your admin time and your team's admin time by answering support questions. I think it's best to concentrate on what's already bringing home the bacon.

I think offering 1GB for around £10/$12 per year might be ok as long as you only allow 1 of everything 1 FTP, 1 MySQL database, 1 Email account but no addon domains. For extras they could upgrade to a higher plan on your other brand.
