Hi Ferdie,

The only way to tell if a hosting company does provide good support is by knowing someone who is already using them and is happy or using the service yourself.
I would not trust reviews as many of these are fake. Other support options are phone and live chat but most of the time hosting providers will just ask you to open a ticket.

A support can be decided as a good or bad by talking/opening a support ticket with them.
There is no other way that can satisfy your answer.

Ask them what you genuinely want to know and then see if their answer tells you what you actually wanted to know.

Like web hosting with live chat support which I can get fast responses when I have hosting problems. Besides, a support ticket system will be more effective when you could not use live chat and everything is noted easily with ticket system on web hosting sites.

Most clients will prefer a support system where they can have their questions answered as fast as possible.

Traditional hosting support trends:

Self-support(articles and tutorials)
Ticket Support(Traditional method, with long hours of wait)
Live Chat(Fast and instant response)
Phone Calls(Most often dead end lines)
