I am having a client and he is wanting to try Google cloud hosting, refer to this link

but I have no idea about Google cloud because I have not yet used it before.

Does any one have any experience or used Google cloud? can you share any reviews about this service? what features can we get from their cloud hosting service?

Their prices tend to be slightly hire than other places however reliability and speed is top the roof.
I used the database cloud and it was flaw less.
support is decent however if anyone needs a lot of support, google wont be their best option.

Is Google cloud an unmanaged cloud hosting? I have to install everything such as apache webserver, php, mysql...etc?

I heard some people used aws amazon and google cloud but I found it difficult to start one.

To be frank I used them sometime ago and can not remember accurately, from what i can remember it was unmanaged however included a lot of helpful tools.

if you do not have a huge website with amazing traffic I recommend going for a smaller but reliable company that can provide you with good support.
Smaller companies go the extra mile to help you.

if I am incorrect please do correct me, as I can not accurately remember.

I suggested him like you said, go to a small hosting company for good price and features but to be honest, he has a decent budget and wanted to have a try to big company like Google after tried some VPS hosting companies before.

I don't know but with his budget $70+ /mo, he wanted to try Google cloud and need my helps and I think I will help him to setup some things on it.

With that budget google cloud can be a great option and with your help he will get a lot of stuff done however I think he would be better off as you said with a smaller company (Reliable and trusted) which can offer him better specs and better support.

I have just tested & installed VestaCP on Google cloud and it ran as well with some configurations.

If you spend 1 or 2 days to acquainted with this cloud hosting then you can feel easy to manage it.

First look on it is a good interface with more functions to scale your hosting specs depends on your requirements but if you go with Google cloud hosting then you can pay higher if you use small web hosting companies. Just opening a VM Instance with 4GB of RAM, 4 vCores, 20 GB disk space of SSD ...and I may need to pay $81/month for this package. Of course you can pay lesser if you choose lower specs.

I am going to install cPanel for my friend next week and can give everyone more reviews about Google cloud hosting.

A problem more is, you will not get supported from Google cloud team if you don't buy support packages from them. Mean you have to pay for support package like Silver, Gold, or Platinum then you can request technical help from support staff by filing a ticket. For me, I have not ever used a hosting service that I had to pay for the support. :D

If you have any questions about using it or getting problems with it, don't hesitate to discuss with me :)

Cheers,

You are right but it is hard to change mind or a decision from a person.

I would help him to do some thing he needs.

Honestly I recommended him use some VPS companies on this forum and he used their hosting services for some years and now he wanted to have a change, a new experience.

If you tried it, pls leave your reviews about Google cloud, I wanted to see how it works

Seem it is a new brand and competing with other cloud providers.
Of course I will check it and leave any reviews about it if possible.

I left Google Cloud hosting because they blocked more things on it. After installed cPanel, they blocked default ports as 25 and 465 which could not send outbound emails although I tried to set firewall rules to open ports for email server or even changed ports for email server they didn't work because they didn't allow to open outgoing email ports on their server.

I chose a good VPS company for my friend from suggestions/offers from this forum and everything is running as well. I would close this thread because I don't have any things to do or use Google Cloud hosting any more.

Biggest Doesn't Mean Best!!! :)

Good luck to Google cloud hosting!

Thanks for reading and cheers, :drinks:

Hopefully your friend will take the best decision! And thanks for the Google Cloud feedback, will take that into consideration if I ever change with them (I use AWS).

I suggest you AWS over Google Cloud in terms of both support and reliability

But there are many good companies which offer reliability cloud services , check out the cloudhosting section here on the forums

Good luck

Are you using AWS? Any feedback about AWS?

I have not use it before, needing to know some advantages and disadvantages of AWS, pricing, support...etc.

Google cloud hosting comes as the second best after AWS. You should see managed Google Compute Engine. Here you can launch your server within minutes. Pick any of 15 development apps, frameworks, and ecommerce builders for your project.
