Would like some reviews on my new Xenforo 2 General Discussion Forum

Hey please review my general discussion forum. It's got topics for all kinds of things including gaming. I wanted to broaden the topic base on this one and make it easy to post about by making multiple areas for discussion.

The style we use is completely custom and I made and coded it myself. We also have a dark style you can view by selecting it in the theme chooser at the bottom left of the site or going to preferences and changing the style from there. Each light and dark style comes with 5 colors. I wanted to give members more to choose from when I made the style so it totals about 10 styles.

I'm new here but I will check back and will probably post around some more when I have time.

That site looks good, I liked the colors combination.
Also is loading really fast here in (Panama) .

Thank you for the feedback. It's a new site I started about 1 month and a half ago. I hope to get a lot of users join soon and have activity increase as much as possible. Were doing good though for a brand new site. So far we have close to 1k posts and 51 members so that makes me happy. Anyways I appreciate the thought.

I like your site and sliders on it but I don't like the header and footer, they look not really professional and you can need to improve on the background of header and boxes footer (for example, remove background color of boxes and align left for content on footer...)

Content on footer is aligned left. So not sure what you mean by that. Also I like the footer to have boxes. To me I think that looks good. Call it a preference but it was made that way on purpose. The header could be improved I believe as well but I decided on going with an ordinary header with just my logo. I may improve on it at some point. However the logo was really mostly all I wanted to show.

I just wanted a basic header with the logo is mostly my preference. I will take your opinion and work on it possibly in the future. Thanks for the feedback. It's really appreciated.

Agreed with you on Logo, you designed it in Photoshop? if that, you need to use Corel draw or Illustrator to make your logo more sharpen.

Actually it's an icon I got from material design icons. But I wanted that to be my logo so I chose it. I downloaded it directly from their site so it should be clear for you. Can't see how an icon can be sharpened anymore.

If you downloaded from another source then it was not unique and that could be a bitmap image, you need to have a vector logo for your forum. You can see the difference when you generate your logo from Corel draw or Illustrator.

Yeah those are good programs and I'm familiar with them. I updated my site with a header image next to the logo. I may look into making a better version of my logo. Although so far I think it looks sharp enough for me. I don't see any blurriness in the image. It was actually a .png image and not a bitmap

I may look into making a better version of my logo.

For sure, you can get any concepts from logo designers out there or you can need to hire someone to design a better logo for you.

I just took your advice just now on the footer boxes and I've updated the site. You can view it now to see that the boxes are no longer there. As for the header. I'm open for more specific suggestions. I also really like this site a lot. Thanks for taking the time to write to me.

@TopSilver yeah the footer looks better but text is still aligned center there.
Also, I would suggest to change forum bar to flat background than using gradient background as current one. Using gradient background and 3d icons, your site looks an old site of 1990s

Well its set to text-align: left with css. I just don't want to move the entire block of text to the left. However the text itself is not center aligned but is left align, just not the block of text. Also I appreciate your thoughts but I like the gradient and have seen many other sites who have done the same thing. Several of which gave me the idea to create this theme. The genre of my site is general discussion so it can be understood that I don't necessarily have to give off a business vibe here. Had this be one of my business ventures I would not take that route. I made it for my visitors to discuss and talk about general things.

I've also recently changed the header up some and added an image into it. Some custom css work I just implemented since you thought the header looked plain.

Site looks good but when I checked some latest posts there, they are spam posts

You can need to manage your forum better, that will not make you loose your visitors when they visit your forum for the first time.

Yeah I'm aware and deleted the posts/user. I manage my forum quite well actually. You just caught it during the small window of time it had been posted. But thanks for pointing that out. We get them once and a while although luckily Xenforo has a spam cleaner to clean it up fast. I had just been asleep when it happened and my admin/super mod wasn't online at the time either.

But yeah I appreciate that.

The fact that you coded the style is an accomplishment all by itself. The site is very user-friendly and the colours and icons you used are ideal. An overall relaxed atmosphere that ppl are sure to love. Many members to you!

Very sleek and stylish I really like the use of the white space to clearly point the user into the direction of where to look very easy on the eyes the todays birthdays feature i enjoyed and finding staff was very easy very good I am impressed with it all go you

This site is really good. Things are arranged accordingly. Also the things are readable. Color combinations are fine. This site is really user friendly, I just visited it but I can explore it easily already. Good job!

The background of your website is not good, when it repeated it created blocks of different colors. I would suggest to change this.
