Is your web hosting company offering discounts or coupon codes to your customers? for me, I would like to buy hosting plans or domain names with coupon codes for a long term. What about your? should your hosting plans include discounts to attract clients?

Everyone likes discounts. Discount attracts people attention. Long term discount is good because your client stay with you and you have no need to remind about the payment each month

I think discounts (coupon codes) are giving benefits to coupon sites where they get commissions from what visitors buy web hosting packages via their recommendations.

I like using discounts when buying web hosting services but it's hard to get them these days or on packages that I wanted.

Yes, discounts are great, but they can also be bad for you. Stuff like if you invite five of your friends then you get 50% off is good because you're offering a discount and you're encouraging customers to invite potential customers.

The max discount you should go is 15% nothing higher, or you'll just lose money.

Depends on the company, really.
There're plenty of hosts offering greater than 15% and still make a profit.


Even with 60% ..... and still the same speed with old hdd
Let me correct my statement! :D It is only damaging for *NEW* hosting companies, if you are relatively new then it should be okay :)

We are currently offering 30% off if you pre pay for 12 months (valid for shared hosting and reseller hosting)
and 50% off if you pre pay for 24 months (valid for shared hosting and reseller hosting)

We do not currently have any offers for domains however you can try 1and1 whom offers very cheap .com domains (support is awful).
you can also try namecheap for peny xyz domains. (support is decent)

Same we also offer discount on all shared hosting plans.a 20% off coupon code(ORAV1)We believe in our customers and should give a hand back to them.Many customers are kept because of discounts.

If you have a high quality service, you do not need to offer permanent discounts

Only on special dates, such as blackfriday or cybermonday, halloween, christmas, etc.

But if you are a company that is starting, it is mandatory that you use this marketing strategy

I agree with Colombiawebs, only offering coupons for specials is the best idea. Continual coupons or discounted pricing does not seem sincere and hard to believe.

Coupons that only last for a certain time period should work best.

We offer individualized coupon codes that work only once and are given on a case-by-case basis for different scenarios. Reusable coupon codes are given during certain events and eventually expire.

We do not offer discounts but we do have codes to waive off setup fee for annual payment.

Our pricing are also regularly reviewed to ensure we stay competitive. We will adjust pricing accordingly or provide better specifications to customers for better value.

The best way to attract people attention is to offer something at a discount or for free.

Offering free hosting is always a problem. I always notice that free clients don't like to upgrade to a paid plan.
Sometimes they search for another free hosting, but don't upgrade in the same company.

Another problem is using the same server for free and paid clients.
Free clients like to abuse from the server. It's always better use a older server to offer free hosting and don't compromise who is paying imo.

Coupon codes always generate interest and if calculated properly ( profit to cost ratio ), can generate both client base & income

You can always be smart and have your prices higher than usual and always have discounts just to bring people in, it's not like anyone will notice and you'll still attract more people like that, because everyone likes discounts, when a person sees that 50% off, they are at least interested enough to click on it then just rather skip it.

Who doesn't like discounts? In my case, when I hear discounts, I always make sure to check on it and most of the time, i purchase something when I know they give discounts. It can also attract potential customers and if they liked what they've purchased there's a big chance they would be purchasing more since they were satisfied with what you offered. Its a win win situation.

I always give away coupons periodically. It attracts new customers and keeps some of the old ones with me. It's like a special club thing xD
It's better to offer discounts then give away for free.

I think that it is eyecatching to see some discounts and sales for your customers. And its easier for your business to spread its name. I've been seeing a lot of ads about discounts and I would always look at how much and what more that they can offer.

Offering discounts are advantageous when your business is launching. The people who still do not know what you are selling will be opted to buy your products because of the low price. It is also a start of patronizing your business to the community. When people hear about a sale or a discount, they will hurriedly go and purchase.
