What do you think if doing link building on sites with different languages? Is it bad or still good for backlinks?

I just need your wise answers.

Same language is preferred the most but if you get a link from a high authority site which is relevant to your site then also its okay.

There is definitely less value in foreign language links.The main point is that the main amount of links should come from the language you want to rank for.
