I want to my links on guest blog posts safe and more SEO benefit when doing guest blogging on other blogs.

What link building tactics should I follow:

1, 2 or 3 backlinks are good?
Should I use anchor text link or direct URLs in the post?
Link to homepage, categories or detail pages?

Thanks in advance

One backlink is plenty unless there is a really good reason for a second.

For your second question, this is one of those things where IM'ers should take a couple of minutes and actually think for themselves. It is not that complicated. There will be some people who just parrot junk that other people say. They are going to tell you that you should use some naked URLs in your links, even on guest posts. That is just plain dumb.

Just take a few minutes to look around on real websites. How are they linking within their content to other websites? They almost never use just plain URLs. They use descriptive text to link to another webpage. So should you.

For your last question, you should link to the most relevant page. Simple as that.

Real websites do not use plain URLs. They use text links. Using just a plain URL on a guest post, or in the middle of any other content, just plain makes no sense for SEO or for your traffic. Don't you want visitors to understand what they are clicking on?

Some people think that you should have a certain percentage of your backlinks be naked URLs. It's a dumb theory with zero proof backing it up, and is fairly easy to disprove.

Even if you did buy into that theory, use places like directories then for those naked URL links.

No way I am going to waste the full potential of a solid link inside of relevant content by using a naked URL.

Most authority sites that allow guest posting will generally only allow one backlink. Any sites that tend to allow several backlinks within a guest post article, will generally be of low quality. Stick to just one backlink and you will be fine.
