Hey everyone. I was just wondering how could you get sales on Amazon with my blog? My blog has a decent amount traffic daily but just a few dollars with Adsense and hardly to have clicks to my Amazon store or Amazon banner on my blog. Could you share me any recommendations about how to make this better or tips about what you have done to actually make sales and it worked?

Depending on what your blog is about, try doing a post where you recommend a product and review it with your own personal experiences with the product. Be sure to include what you like and dislike about it.

You should get some more interaction with the links that way, static banners on the sidebar.

If you aren't getting any clicks to Amazon then it is most likely because your blog post and/or blog in general does not attract traffic that is interested in the products being shown to them in the Amazon ads.

A lot of people think that you can build a blog about any old topic and then show them Google Adsense ads and Amazon affiliate links and/or other affiliate links to every day products that common people use. But it doesn't work like that. Only a tiny (completely insignificant) percentage of visitors will click on your ads unless the visitors are in a mental state where they are more likely to click on ads and the ads that are presented to them are ads that they find interesting.

For example, if you get traffic to a post on your blog from people searching for "how to roast a chicken" and your Amazon ads are showing people links to books about how to become a chef then you might expect those Amazon ads to get some clicks. But they won't. That traffic isn't targeted enough.

However, if you are getting traffic to your post on your blog from people searching for "Learn how to become a chef" and those same ads are showing books about how to become a chef then you are more likely to get some clicks.

Now what if you got traffic for people searching for "best book about learning to become a chef"? If you got traffic from those keywords and your blog post actually explained which book is the best book and you had an affiliate link to that book on Amazon, then you are going to get a high percentage of clicks. The keyword volume for a search like that will be very, very low; but the conversions will be higher. Ideally you want to find keywords that have reasonable volume that are also good targets for people who are more likely to want to click on an ad or click on an affiliate link.

Whether or not you get clicks all depends on how well targeted your traffic is, whether or not that person is in shopping mode (looking for something to buy) and how well the advertisements target that person. If any of those things is out of whack, then you don't get very many clicks. That is true for both Adsense ads and Amazon ads and any other affiliate links.

In general, I have found that a blog that produces adsense effectively will not produce efficiently for other monetization methods. I usually use the adsense vs other monetization test to determine the "quality" of content on a blog. And by quality, I refer only to its capacity to produce direct sales conversions on its own. The absence of this quality promotes the "power" or the need (more aptly) for the visitor to click on the adsense ad.

When they come to a website, they are looking for information. Your website's ability (quality) to provide the information or "solution" they are seeking will be demonstrated by sales. So if you have adsense action happening, it is a good indicator that your site does not have the "oomph" to produce other sales conversions (including email capture, btw).

Not sure I understand what you mean. Based on what I think you are saying, my experience has been counter to what you are suggesting.

If I produce a website that attracts late buying stage traffic for a type of product, that traffic tends to convert very well for both Adsense and for affiliate promotions directly from the site itself (in other words without building a list or any email marketing). You just have to decide whether you are better off running the Adsense to keep things ridiculously simple or if you are better off picking a highly relevant affiliate product to promote. A lot of times I just stick with the Adsense because it is friggin simple and pretty much completely passive.

In my experience, any website I have produced so far that does not target late stage buying traffic generally does not do well with Adsense. In those cases I end up building a list and using and autoresponder email series to try to promote an affiliate product or produce and sell a product of my own. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't depending on the niche and the specific situation. Some niches are dang near impossible to monetize. At least not to my satisfaction.

But I have never determined an Adsense site that gets high CTR to be a site that was lacking the ability to make a sale. Quite the contrary. The site instead helps the person make up their mind about what type of product they should buy and then gives them a chance to get a deal on that product via an attractive Adsense offer.

Maybe that is just because of the niches I have worked. I don't know. But in my experience, the better the website does at helping the person make up their mind about what product to buy, the better the CTR for Adsense.

So I am not really sure what you are experiencing.
