How to get your first client?

I believe that I got my first client from Facebook or forums. I can't really remember. I used both of those for traffic in the beginning and I still use them both now, years later.

Not really. A client may first find you on the search engine if you have done no other type of marketing to your niche whatsoever, but repeat business will make you or break you. Stay in contact with your clientele.

I got my first customer on a site other than my own about 4 years ago, then took me about 6 months to get another and once they started coming I started really promoting everything back to my own site and it just took off from there.

When you are doing ecommerce business, you should never depend on your luck, rather you should believe in your destiny. You should at, rather than wait for something to happen. You can find your first client among friends and family. Approach your friends and family and ask them to buy products or services from your store. You can get your first client from friends or family.
