Hello guys

I am working for an e commerce site which have been launched on July this year but I have not still got any concepts to get traffic for this type of site. Could you guys share me any ways?

Does it have any difference like getting traffic for a blog or a normal site?

I would like to read your tips and help me succeed with my new eCommerce site.

Thanks

Hello Philani,

There are lots of ways to get traffic to a ecommerce traffic. Alot depends on what niche you're in & the amount of time you have to spend on it or budget to pay someone else for the work.

Potential customer will come to your site because:

1. Someone or something told them to visit the site. Word of mouth, referrals, and targeting local customers is always the best and gives you the best chance of converting them from a visitor to a customer. Depending upon the type of business, you can also explore various print advertising methods.

2. A link to your site, from another site. Do not fall for any of them "$299 and we will put you on the top of Google", "buy 100 PR7 backlinks for $29", or "10,00 targeted customers for $49" These methods pretty much never do any good and can actually have detrimental effects on your search rankings.

Just because it's cheap, doesn't mean its a good deal. Just because it's expensive, doesn't mean it really works!

If you have the budget, you can spend some money on advertising. Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Advertising spots on popular website (Like Webmaster Sun!!)

Your long term goal should be to increase the number of quality backlinks to your site, and increase your organic search ranking. But again, this is a long term goal, because it takes time and effort.

I'm not going to go into specific SEO details, because that is not my expertise, but I'm sure some of our WMS SEO pro's will chime in shortly!

This goal can reach in short term by investing into it like buying advertising, quality backlinks on quality and high traffic sites?

You're not going to increase your organic search rankings by buying advertising. When you stop paying for the ad, you lose the link. If you purchase a permanent link somewhere, well, most of those arent quality links anyway.

If you have the money to invest, you can get a listing in some of the quality directories or sponsor a site, but these few links aren't going to have a major impact on your organic rankings.

Firstly you should know whether the site is responsive or not. Even you have to search whether the site customized or fulfilling all the requirements of Google algorithms or not.

These things are very crucial to get the website crawled by Google and get indexed in it. Unless and until you do that your website wouldn't get any rank or traffic easily. After knowing all these points you can share the links of your website to social media sites and other high PR sites as well in order to attain huge traffic towards a website instantly.
