Let's explain it simply, a profile can either be about a person or a company. A page is usually used for events from a person or a company.

Facebook profiles have created for persons and pages have created for businesses. According to FB rules, if you are planning to promote a business you must have to have a fan page.

Facebook profile is creating for person only. Coming to Facebook fan page is different i.e, pages can create only for business purpose, suppose if want to promote your business or company you have to maintain one Facebook fan page and try increase more likes on it. Once you have to posted in page that post will be sharing all people who liked your page..I think this will help you more

Put simply, a profile is for people and a Page is for companies. With a profile, users must request to be your friend (and then you have to accept them) before they receive content from you in their news feeds. Profiles come with features like Chat and gaming capabilities that are not available to Pages.

a facebook person can have up to 5,000 friends, more then that are just followers, and also, today, facebook is letting more people see content from facebook users and not facebook pages.. so even though you can have more likes on your fb page, it's also something to take under considaration

Personal profile are for individuals, you can not use it commercially.

Pages are looks similar to personal profile but it has more options to connect peoples to a topic they are interested. pages represent a company, a business, a brand, a organization. you can like pages to see them in your news feeds.

I have to say drdialeruk is right. I think you can unserdtand that personal profile is personal and commercial is commercial. You can use account for your personal use but if you want to promote a business than you have to create Facebook fanpage rather create an account. Because your business/commercial is not a person so you don't have to open an account for that.

Facebook Pages are generally hosted under profiles. A person can have one Facebook profile (by Facebook's terms of service), but each profile and then be associated with many, many Pages. There is also a limit to the number of friends a profile can have, but no limit to likes on a page.

Profiles are intended for personal use only. Facebook recently started enforcing a rule that if a profile is using a name other than their legal given name that Facebook can close their account immediately. Pages can be used for different purposes including your business.

Facebook profile is personal, a page can be for pretty much anything you want it to be! Also, if you open a facebook page, you will have the option of opening a Facebook store, where you can sell your products from as well.
hope that helps. :)

To create a profile, you have to sign up for Facebook from the home page with a personal email address, entering your personal information, not the information of your company.

A Page, however, requires a user to hit a button labeled Like,” and content will start to be visible on his or her news feed. Pages are different as well in the sense that they must be created from an existing account, and different individual people (who have their own profiles) are assigned as admins.

When you create a facebook account, by default it will be your personal account. There is a limit on how many friends and followers you can have on your personal account. You can only have one facebook account. With your facebook account you can create facebook pages. You can create as many pages as you want. There is no limit to how many followers you can have for your facebook pages. Facebook pages are basically to promote services and products.

Facebook profile is mainly for a private purpose in the sense that it can be managed by one person two cannot handle a facebook profile at once,

But coming to Facebook page it is meant for multiple persons to handle like they is an admin and editor too, so to me Facebook page is meant for people that have interest in a service..

Thanks

They are both practically two different things, a Facebook profile page is more of a personal media platform used mainly for personal and intimate communication relationship while Facebook page is more of an official business platform.

The Facebook page is most times used for the actual social media marketing, a Facebook profile can equally be used but irrelevant stuffs tend to crop in on it which is why a page strictly for business is advised for marketing purposes.
