Because it seems like everyone has a smartphone, and all of your customers will be making purchases through their phone, you will need to make sure your company is optimized for mobile marketing. Marketing is already a tricky business, but you may be underestimating the power of mobile. And that can be a power for good or for bad depending on whether or not your website has been optimized.

Losing customers because of mobile

As Mashable points out, customers that don't make a purchase right away on your site are not likely to come back and make a purchase later. And they won't make a purchase unless it is as easy as possible. It is already annoying to have to jump through hoops and fill out information forms with a regular computer or laptop. Just imagine how much harder that would be if you were doing it with a mobile phone and a tiny keyboard. That is why you need to make the process as streamlined as possible. Add the item to the cart, checkout with PayPal, and it is that simple. Your customers are much more likely to make a purchase on mobile if they can easily go from the ad to your site to the cart to done. If they have to put in more work than necessary or get up to find credit card information, they may not make the impulsive buy.

Choose a responsive design

A responsive design is one that will change depending on the device being used. You will want a different website for the computer, another for a tablet, and even another one for smartphones. Make sure your website is optimized for all situations in which someone may look at your website instead of just one of the options. With responsive design, the website is automatically altered to create a different site for different devices. When marketing, you want to make sure your site will look the best for the device being used by the customer.

Stay on top of technology changes

You need to stay on top of all the current trends and technology changes. A website needs to stay up to date or people think it looks old and is too hard to navigate. Make sure you are staying up to date and have the best trends on your site. One way to stay up to date with customers is to use pay per call. With the pay per call market, you simply pay someone else to do the marketing for you and you only pay when you get a quality lead calling your business. It is a much cheaper option for marketing than doing it yourself.

I like this factor " Losing customers because of mobile" it's very exactly. If you don't focus on mobile marketing, you will loose potential customers.
@markcoooper, according to you, between mobile version and responsive design, which I should go with and why?
