To check the server speed you can run the following test using command prompt on Windows- ping/tracert
How to do it:
  • Open Start
  • Command Prompt on Windows
or
  • Click Start
  • Run (Win+R)
  • type CMD
  • Click OK

Then type ping and/or type tracert followed by the IP address of the server.

Try this: If you have access to a remote desktop, open a web browser and go to speedtest.net to run a speed test. If not, here's how you can test your server's download speed: Connect it to a server that you know is fast (such as Google).

Hey there!
So the speed of a server affects its traffic and reputation. It's also one of the most important SEO factors. A slow server also discourages visitors from returning.
Therefore monitoring page speed is critical. A server speed test can reveal your server's performance and any areas that need improvement.
Method 1: Multi-tool testing
We suggest running multiple speed tests with different tools. Using multiple tools will provide a load time range. Comparing test results yields an average.
Method 2: Test on Multiple Servers
Most server speed testing tools allow testing from multiple locations. This helps you understand how server speed varies by location. Distance from the data centre makes it slower.
Use Google Analytics to find out where the most traffic comes from. Then run the test with the traffic source in mind.
Also you can check your server performance using free speed-checking tools available online, such as Ookla, and much more.
Hope you have an definitive answer to your question.
Thank you...

Simply open any browser you have and type speedtest.net, it helps to find exact speed of the server.

A couple of speed testing tools I've found to give the most consistent results:

gtmetrix.com
webpagetest.org
PageSpeed Insight (Google PageSpeed)

Hello,

The time that requires a long between a client requesting a page in a browser and a server replying to that request is referred to as server response time. It is evaluated by TTFB (Time to First Byte). The time it takes to get the first byte of a page after sending an HTTP request is measured in milliseconds. For more details, please visit Hyperslice.

Fast websites are equal to happy visitors.

Once you have hired a web hosting provider, you must know how it responds and how the server response to the requests made by the browser.

To check how to sever response and its speed, you can check it easily with “TTFB.”
This means Time-To-First-Byte, indicates server responsiveness.

Besides, choose the right web hosting provider with incredible service. Sometimes, you may want cheap hosting but face issues with that. I would recommend hiring the best and most well-known web hosting provider where you will not have to worry about the server speed and website speed, as the web host will look after that. And you can easily give more focus to your business goals instead of giving hours and hours to checking the issue and resolving it.
