Hi all

I'm in an unusual situation. After 20 or so years problem free web and email hosting my current provider is causing me problems and I may be without web/email hosting for a while. Finding a reliable and trusted replacement is not trivial - few options

Can anyone advise what happens with the registrars and the reseller (who adinister a couple of domains) if the account with the reseller is terminated.

Can I deal direct with the resistrar. They keep referring me to the reseller. However if the reseller causes me problems and my account is closed for any reason how do I deal with registration issues

I am shifting my emails across to a reliable email address but they still have administrative and billing contacts on two domains. I cant see how to change that and deal direct with the registrar

Sadly the way the reseller has behaved means they cannot be trusted to look after my interests at all

Thanks

Its very hard to deal with the registrar unless you have spoken to them or done business with them directly in the first place. They aren't really responsible for this, even if the reseller comes under their purview.

If your reseller is acting flaky and is not willing to help, you can flag it with ICANN before it gets messy. https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/dispute-resolution-2012-02-25-en

I hope this helps, but given your situation, I would first ask you to talk to your provider and understand things in detail. Please let me know how this goes. I will give you a few more options accordingly.

Thankyou

Communication with the service provider is very difficult, hence me needing to move. Hoping not to need any formal dispute processes. I don't have the energy or health to deal with that kind of stuff

There are many dimensions to this including anti-competitive issues in my state and/or country
