Positive side of small Companies.
Small web hosting companies do not spend money on advertisement and extract that money from customers unlike big companies. Small hosting companies give more time and value to an individual customer as they have a limited number of customers while big companies spend money on suppressing the bad reviews by paid reviews. Small companies contribute a lot in creation and maintenance of free speech platforms. I mean you can't imagine a single web hosting forum without them.

Negative Side of Small Companies.
Lack of unity among small hosting companies make them vulnerable and give upper hand to big companies. I have seen on many forums that the bad review by a ruined client of a big company is covered by their agents who impersonate as a genuine member of the forum. Tens of fake members who are actually employees of that big company rush to bash the harrashed client who dare to raise voice on a forum. None of a small company support to the genuine grievances of that client. But if there is a comment against a small company then other companies try to support that comment considering that company as their competitor. The reality is that teh actual compatitor of small companies are the big companies who grab most of the market share.

Most of the small companies do not create a strategy or an excel sheet for marketing, time management, link building, Asset creation, etc. No matter how small your budget is, you must keep a percentage of your earning for marketing your product, asset building, etc. You can't have a support team but you can have support articles and videos on your knowledge-base website. You may not have a banner add on a forum but you can have a thread, comment on each forum. You may not have staff to support your comments but you can support the comments of other small companies like you. You may not have google, facebook adds, but you can support google and facebook reviews of other small hosting providers.

from my experience (large it and small) the large IT cos who have 24/7 support usually dont have very skilled staff, they just act as an information gathering point, to satisfy your desire to have someone look into your issue. But they just raise a ticket for you and hand it off to some one in the queue..... zZzzz good luck waiting for a response.
Smaller IT co's have someone at hand as much as humanly possible or as budget requires.. and will usually look into your issue in minutes....

Small companies used 3rd party support they don't have there own technical team but in large companies they have there own technical team and provide 24x7x365 days support.

In my opinion, it is preferable to choose small companies, since usually such companies have the resources for high-quality and timely service, while giant conglomerates drown themselves due to the inability to respond to a huge number of customer requests and ultimately give poor response rates on tickets, which can play a key role in a critical situation.
That's why I always choose small companies.

Choosing a web host isn't just about size. Large companies boast expansive server networks, 24/7 support, and cutting-edge technology, but their personalized touch might be lacking. Smaller hosts offer dedicated attention and niche-specific solutions, but their server infrastructure and feature sets might be limited. So, prioritize your needs: If uptime and scalability reign supreme, go big. If budget and personal service matter most, think small. Do your research, compare options, and find the host that fits your website needs.
