You will need to check with your hosting provider if the resources are shared if not then go for the VPS. In most hosts, you will be sharing your CPU, RAM, or network bandwidth. So keep that in mind as well.

Your win-win would be dedicated server. No shared network, no shared cpu, no shared disks and no shared memory. It is the same as, if you prefer to share your little room with someone else, or just you :)

Consider the application that your server powers and whether 8GB of RAM could prove to be a bottle-neck. If so, consider going with the 16GB VPS with KVM virtualization to get the best blend of security, performance and reliability for your hosted services.

VPS is always shared resources with other users, buy a dedicated if you are getting in the same price of a dedicated server.

It can be challenging to decide which to buy between a VPS with 16GB RAM and a dedicated server with 8 GB RAM in the condition they have the same price. The main difference is that a dedicated server offers more storage and processing power. It is also more expensive, but it could be better if you need more storage or processing power than a VPS can offer. On the other hand, if you only need a small amount of storage or processing power, a VPS may be a better choice.

According to me, dedicated server is always better because it is not shared ram like VPS.
