there are 3 level of service providers :

- IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) - ex: self-managed dedicated server
- PaaS (Platform as a Service) - ex: AWS or OVH cloud
- SaaS (Software as a Service) - ex: wordpress.com paid blog hosting

The best ways to say about SaaS (Software As A Service), means you don't need to pay for hosting the software, you don't need to maintain it, you can just use it.

The positives are the above.

The negatives are you don't manage your customers data.

However it depends on the company's security and how locked down it is and how much you trust them, or if you'd rather host it yourself and be liable for everything including your customers data.
