If you're using MySQL, there are a few things you can do to optimize your cPanel account. First, make sure your server is configured correctly—mysql_buffer_pool and mysql_log_file should be set to appropriate values, and the InnoDB buffer pool size should be at least 128 MB. Second, keep an eye on your mysqld process—if it's running too slowly, try reducing the number of connections or increasing the memory allocation. Finally, make sure your database is sized appropriately—if it's growing too large, consider splitting it into separate tables or reducing the number of rows in each table.

I understand you want to optimize the MySQL server, rather than a specific database? If so, Google would be your best bet, as that topic is too large to describe here. It involves editing the server's my.cnf file, and adding/adjusting several options. The values you'll use will also depend on many things, such as CPU cores and RAM available on the server. phpMyAdmin has an optimization tool built in, which can suggest you the values you may want to use. You need to be logged in to phpMyAdmin as an administrative user to use the optimizer.
