All my websites are using Cloudflare and they are running on a good hosting but I don't know actual website speed is from my hosting or Cloudflare. Can anyone tell me how does Cloudflare affect my website speed? or its just optimize website to have better speed from my hosting provider?

Hello @Mujkanovic,

I have tried to compare websites speed with/without cloudflare, and there are too many factors like :

1) website traffic : more visits = more assets in Cloudflare cache
2) visitor location : my websites are faster without cloudflare in France, but in some locations it's not true
3) cloudflare configuration & pages rules : you need to set a proper configuration to get benefits from Cloudflare

Then the last point is, if a website is slow, cloudflare will not make it loading blazing fast.

@VirtuBox

So, for a normal host, Cloudflare will help to boost website speed?
For a fast host, Cloudflare will help to make website has better speed or decrease speed of a website?

Cloudflare doesn't provide only a CDN services, there are several other features (SSL, anti DDoS etc..). So if you use them, it's probably better to keep Cloudflare.

I do not use it anymore on my websites, and I have better speed without Cloudflare (with a custom Nginx configuration and a lot of optimization).
But I'm not able to tell you it will be the same for you.

If I do not use the CDN anymore, I still use the DNS service.

How do I use DNS service from Cloudflare only?
I want to test real speed from my web hosting provider while still using Cloudflare. :)
