Digitalocean $50 credit?

I have read several blog posts and they said I can earn $50 credit from Digitalocean to use cloud VPS there for free. How can I obtain this credit? They didn't guide me on blog posts. Does this apply for new users on Digitalocean?

I made a search and i found that you have to be a student to get this 50$ credit.

Or you do get $10 just for signing up usually, you may have to google about for the code

I agreed with this opinion, I got $10 with DO in the past when I signed up a new account with them.
But $10 is very small to use a VPS because on digitalocean, you need more than 1GB of RAM for better performance, if not, the vps is very slow, that will make you upgrade to higher plans and you will need to add extra money to $10 for your account though.

How to get 50$ credit and how they will verify if you are a student to get that credit. I am curious about this.

Digital Ocean is basically for trying things out. What you do is start up an instance, do whatever you want to experiment with, then shutdown or destroy that instance. You will only be paying for actual time used. So $10 can go quite a long way.

Actually, you can get quite a bit of free credit if you use their refer a friend system. They would have to pay into the system though, but I believe you get like 3X the amount you pay in the end.
