I want to check where is my domain registered? I often use whois.com and it seems a good option with me but don't know if there are any better sites to check information for my domains out there? please recommend me some and why it is better than whois.com?

Who.is is a pretty good site or using a whois lookup tool like on Godaddy.com or another webhost website.

Those usually check the large databases on the backend.

I personally use MyIP.ms to get detailed report on my website or any website or I.P. Address that am interested in. You acquire the following information: the hosting provider, the physical location of a website, the IP Address change history of a website and the DNS information.

Ideally, any whois service is good enough to check where your domain is registered i.e. Who is the registrar of your domain.

I personally use ICANN's official whois service: whois.icann.org though the other options like who.is/whois/MyIP.ms are good enough.

"domainers" also like to search by email google UA goodle adsense account etc to identify ownerships.

I would suggest whois is always best. Other sites which I would recommend are 'https://centralops.net' and MX tool box. These both sites will also provide the detailed information of the domain.

Nice question!

Everybody wants more information. Believe me, earlier I was pleased with Whois.com only being a good option and a great source of domain information and other personal contact information. However, now I'm only preferring rankank.com to view the domain information along with other details such as Alexa traffic ranking, meta tags, site worth, server location, DNS report for any domain.
In addition, mxtoolbox.com and WHMCS inbuilt tool could also be a great pick for you to garner domain information.
