Does anyone know if it's still okay to build your own custom gaming pc nowadays? I've been seeing a lot of reviews on the internet but I'm not so sure if theyre legit.
I'm saving up for my pc. So anyone help me decide.

Yes, of course it is fine to build your own. If you have the time and necessary expertise you might as well do it yourself and save some money. It's not as complicated as you may think...

It depends on what you want to use your computer for. If it's for gaming, you should build because you can upgrade more of the components. But it's still much better to do some research more to see what's best for you and how you can save as much money as possible.

If you know what they are doing, then it is a good thing to assemble your computer. But when you have no idea of how it functions, then I suggest you just purchase a built one and buy from a legitimate seller where you can be sure you're realy taking home what they said you're buying. Otherwise, your saved up money will go to waste.

Try to go to computer shops and appear you are planning to buy a computer for gaming. Normally they provide you their best packages and from there you can ask them about custom built PC where you may get valuable inputs and referrals. Compare their inputs and hopefully make you decide better on what to buy. Also, for additional reference, you may check TurboFuture's website and read article updated June 2, 2017, "10 Good Custom Gaming PC Builds 2017 - Beginner's Building Guide."

Building your own has always been cheaper. Some of the pre-built companies offer more than just the computer, though - things like support.
Personally - I have always built my own PCs.

A built pc has many perks included to attract consumers also to justify the price you pay is worth it. While building your own pc comes with risk but it's cheaper and after your done building, it has a reward of self-satisfaction because you can put whatever specs you want for your gaming pc. It only depends on your budget and you're experienced in building a pc.

For me, I build my own gaming pc depending on what games I play.

If you know how to configure it then off course it's best to go with building your own PC for gaming. Benefit of it as you can have required RAM, Harddisk and other resources. You can purchase all these of your choice and within your budget.

Assembled systems are always more powerful then the ready to buy systems.

If you are not that much familiar then buy it, it will be suitable for you.

Building is always better than buying. You can save a lot and you can have every detailed piece of hardware that you desire. Also, the problem when buying is that there is always that one thing in the hardware component that will suck and you will end up upgrading it yourself.

For me it's better to build your own. If you have the knowledge about the parts to be assembled it's much better for me. You can choose your specs and you can maximize your budget. Try it. It's fun.

If you have the talent to build your own gaming PC, then I suggest you do that because you will be relying solely on your knowledge and not from some hard-to-understand manual that comes with what you purchased. Also, the danger of being scammed or delivery issues will be avoided. I saw an article online wherein the guy purchased a gaming PC abroad and when the product came, it was already destroyed. The courier must not have taken precautions in delivering the item.

Always try to do it yourself there is loads of videos on the internet showing you the correct way to do it, price per performance is probably the most important factor in DIY look at what you're building the pc for gaming, work, social networking. build around that

Yes it is if you are a hardware expert or have a knowledge on computer technology, building your own PC seems to good but also having a risk because buying a parts of computer seems to have a short term warranty than buying a whole computer design for gaming. Buying a whole needs more budget but it is ready to use, making your own can save money but you will undergo trial and error if you are not a skilled technician.

Building your own is very economical but you need to also do some researching before building one. PC hardware are basically plug and play modules, you only need some basic skills just to make sure that your doing everything right and of course for safety reasons.

If you want to build one, i suggest that you gather information first and study them. Topics like procedures, specification and compatibility, and basic troubleshooting/installation are the ones that i think could help you.

Buying a PC that is already built would be hassle-free but costly especially if you have no idea what PC specifications that you need. I'm not saying this in general but mostly, PC stores would probably offer you the most expensive ones they got due to their quotas. Or you can compare prices through different stores first before buying one.

But if you have the ability to build a PC or if you know someone who is an expert, this gives you the advantage, of course, you'd be also aware of the proper specifications that you should need. This can save you a lot of money and once you have extra cash, you can upgrade it anytime at a very reasonable price.

I'd always choose to build my PC.
I say "would" because I've never had a chance to, I had a really bad PC back in the 2007 or so, just full out "new" at a time. Eventually, it got old and I bought a new one in 2011, of course, the problem with building one are financials, I was a student and just wasn't able to build the dream one back then. So from that year, I upgraded my PC one part a time, from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM, from GT 520 to GTX 750 and so on...
So yeah, if you have the money to afford to build one from scratch then I'd recommend that, but if not, you can get one from the store and upgrade it little by little.

Building a PC to me just way better than going out and buying one for multiple reasons.

1) It allows me to suit my specific needs better than buying a pre-built one at the store
2) Price
3) Isolation of problems when they occur

I will say that some places offer great custom built computers that you can configure yourself like NZXTs BLD program (I think that's what it is called) is good for people who don't know and dont care to learn how to build one themselves but you can still kind of pick and choose the parts that go into the PC and it picks the parts for the things you are looking to do. Right now its heavily focused on gaming but I have heard they will expand it to pick other options besides games.

I think buying is the way to go these days especially with how expensive gpus are these days. Another reason why it think its worth buying is there are sites like I buy power where you can buy a great desktop on the cheaper side. You can even research the cost of all the parts and its pretty close in pricing. You also can get a lot of goodies with your purchases.
