Yes, most definitely!

I built my own PC and I'm very happy with it. It purrs like a lion! It's great because I know what went into it, what parts I can upgrade etc.

Building your own PC is quite complicated and requires expertise unless you have a lot of money or you own a company. Did you mean customize the existing PC by replacing the components like video card, RAM, memory cards, processors, etc., if that's what you mean you may do so. You may customize the components based on your needs and usage and the cost will be lesser than buying a high end PCs with the same specifications.

I do not consider myself to build of modify my own PC because I do not want to take the risk which could result to destroying the whole unit because of improper installation of new parts or modifications. I would rather buy a brand new one that will suit my needs.

hey mate i bought my first pc already pre built over paid by a ton, i decided to pre order mine part by part then took it my local computer shop for them to put it together. I honestly thought it was gonna cost me an arm and a leg for them to builb it but it was very cheap i've done this twice now and i've never had an issue. If you cant put it together just take it to the local pc shop, if you can build your pc then its a win win but i strongly agree order your own pc you will always save alot of money

It is better to build than to buy PC. Because once you build it, you are familiar with every piece of it, and it is easy for you to understand once there is an error with it.
But building PC is depending on your ability to build it.

I think it's best to purchase a gaming pc rather than assembling. It's time consuming and ready to use. Plus, it has a product warranty if in case it will get in trouble/malfunction. It maybe expensive but you are assured with the quality and durability of the product.

It’s a difficult question as I have been in this situation before.

The benefits of building your own is of course the price. You can usually build a PC yourself by buying your own parts on the internet and it works out cheaper. This isn’t always the case as I have seen good deals on pre-built machines.

The benefits of pre-builds is warranty. If something goes wrong with your machine you can return it for repairs or a replacement.

If you built it yourself it can be a pain to diagnose which part failed and sometimes it can bring other components down with it if you end up frying it somehow, overclocking springs to mind or bad CPU. Building yourself carries the risk of doing something wrong, bending pins ETC.

It’s important to ensure you know what you’re doing, it’s not hard but it’s vital you take your time and re-check everything before booting it for the first time.

The biggest downfall of building a pc, especially a gaming one is the depreciation in price after 6-12 months. You will never get your money back through re-sale.

I personally chose and built my own PC with the help of my husband who is an IT and his friends who have knowledge about PC.
There are two main reasons why customizing your own PC has more advantages than buying a pre-built system that already selected for you.

(y)Performance and quality of the PC are determined by different parts used or make up a computer such as the processor, drives, memory, video cards etc. When you build your own PC, you have the freedom, without any restriction, to select different parts that best match what you need or you desire specially when you want it for playing the latest PC games on max settings. You allow full customization and ability to upgrade internal hardware to create a powerful PC/computer system.
In addition to that, you will gain knowledge and great insights in computer by learning and understanding the role and purpose of each parts/components of the computer system, how it works together and how they fit together into the motherboard. It is very essential for the user to have this knowledge when troubleshooting computer problems to avoid hiring technicians or expensive repair services.
However, remember to do this, you must have a support system or need a help from someone who is knowledgeable with computer parts and make research about computer parts because if you don't have knowledge it might be difficult for you and stressful and may face different risks.

(y) Cheaper. You can have variety of choices and can choose a lower price but with the same specification options with other brand. You can also focus on the features you need or want and leave out those you don't need. Consumers can save through buying third party parts from small manufacturers/retailers. Mall price is more expensive compare to other sellers/market. You will just have to pay for the computer parts and you will not need to pay for the assembly cost and other charges to build the computer for you when you buy a pre-built computer system.

If you know how to build a PC then I think it’s an advantage to customize your hardware because you have the ability to put everything that you want in place. But if you don’t have any knowledge about it better buy it. Well, you can ask for reviews or which is the best PC to buy according to how you will use it.

Building is in most cases better than buying however its a lot more work. Theres just that feeling of achievement you get from building it yourself but aside from that. In building you get to put in all the components you desire with as many bells and whistles as your money can buy. It does take up a lot of your time though as you may have to research and search for some components. You also have to make sure everything is compatible. not to mention having a bit of know how as to how you should put everything together. When it comes to buying you just google the best prise vs perfomance click click and wait for delivery it saves time. Though I still have a bias towards building.

Building allows you to customize your PC yourself. If you don't really need much HDD memory, for example, than you can buy something cheap for that part and save money or if you have a budget, save money from that part so you can buy a better version of a different component.
Just keep in mind that you need to build it yourself or pay extra to have it build. And if you don't know a lot about components and building, find people that do. I have a friend who has a job that also demands that he can build and fix custom built PC's. I gave him a budget, he asked me what I was intending to use this PC for (gaming) and some other questions, then bought the parts and built it for free. Said he loves to build PC's, and takes any offer, no charge (for friends and family, of course).
