TapaTalk vs. responsive/mobile themes

I came across some forums and they are using Tapatalk when viewing on mobile devices. According to your opinion, does it have any advantages and disadvantages of using Tapatalk on forums? Especially today, more people are using responsive design and mobile themes for their forums.

Responsive design is best for me, I feel not convenient when must install a program like TapaTalk to support viewing a non responsive design.

SMF (Simple Machines Forum) doesn't have a responsive feature. One nice feature on TapATalk is the ability to build a following on that app itself. If I had my choice and Google's choice is to have a responsive site.
