I could pick 3 different web hosting companies but I have not used them yet before, I don't know which company will support better than the rest. I have less experience when choosing a new web hosting company, I am needing some you guys here share your advice on how to check a web hosting company is supporting as excellent? What do I need to check if their support is good or excellent before purchasing their hosting services?

For example, you can check the response time of the companies by asking the support agents to help you choose the best plan for you. I believe this often help you check if the company has friendly attitude towards its clients (in this case potential clients). You can search for some client opinions about their support but sometimes this information may not be very accurate, that's why I personally prefer to check a host by myself. I personally prefer using the live chat support option, while other people prefer having more options like support via email and phone.

Here are some points for you which will help you to judge the support team in some extent -

1. Greet attitude to the customer - When you will go for enquiry through chat or email, the support team should greet you, their replies should be polite thought the queries or so simple but customer is new in field. This should get reflect in their replies.

2. Quality support - You can read the review of the company and support team on internet as well as you can ask your friends who has already registered and clients of company. You should get the answer of your every query politely and clearly and correctly. Support team should not be aggressive.

3. Response time - Response time should depend on the type of query which you have submitted. You can refer this thread for more details - https://forumweb.hosting/13276-how-...-provider-to-reply-to-customer-s-tickets.html

4. Resolution for every query - The issues which you've submitted should be handled properly, there should not be just lengthy replies without resolution.

5. User friendly replies - Replies should be user friendly. not too much technical that customer will be confused. Reply should depend on the how depth knowledge of the customer is.

Hope this will help you. :)

The best way to find out is to sign up yourself, and if you are unhappy, get a refund within their moneyback period.

Some providers offer a Money back guarantee, you can use that as a trial period. But if you are hosting your project with a decent provider you shouldn't have the need for support in the first place, since the service itself should work flawlessly.

As a user, I think the first impression is important. What I would do is to ask my acquaintances or friends on the web hosting compnay to use. After that, the next step is to narrow down to the companies which meet my requirements. From these companies, I will make some enquiries via their website. Some of them have Live Chat support. I tend to talk to the live chat support and find out more on the package I'm interested in.

An e-mail follow up to show my interest would be great to check how long the response team takes to reply to me. I will try to ask some technical terms. Some of the support team are patient and will provide a well-written explanation as well as politely redirect me to certain packages more suitable for my needs.

Based on these information, I will be able to compare between the support teams. If you still can't pick, it's okay to call up and see how they handle your queries.
