How many guys here using cPanel to host your websites? I am using a WHM/cPanel license but feeling it is expensive, would like to have a good alternative with lower price. What control panel would you recommend me? why?

I would say for hosting environments cPanel is best not due to it being technically better in fact Plesk is better in many ways but your average hosting customers knows cPanel but might not of seen Plesk. No need to confuse customers without good reason. If your not a hosting provider and the hosting is just for your own needs/small hosting then I would pick Plesk everytime maybe even Webmin.

cPanel is only expensive when you use it for your personal use but If you are using it for commercial purpose like selling hosting account then cPanel is very good and their price is very stable from many years.

However for personal use I recommended you to use free control panel like webmin or Direct admin(much cheaper).

if you use it for personal use you can use budget control panel or free panels as well. But if you are using it for porfessional use my advice is only cpanel.

I have a hosting with cPanel, but I almost do not use it, because I have a hosting with Plesk.
It's much more convenient for me.

Vesta CP is quite good, also it is free. It has some limitations. But for VPS server it is enough.

I use cpanel and yes it is kind of expensive but! if you using it for commercial use then you can have it pay itself! I love cPanel was here when I first started and I fell in love with it. wouldn't want another panel. Trust me I've tried them all

cpanel is the norm for hosting, now that their with whmcs it makes it a much better platform for hosting providers. The budget is not out of line for a 20 dollar item you get alot of ban for your buck.

If you are looking for a cheap alternative, as mentioned take a look at DirectAdmin. The new theme makes it much easier to use then before.

What means for more convenient with Plesk than cPanel in your mind?

I heard some complains about this hosting control panel. But agreed, it is good for some people with low budget. I also tried this hosting panel before go with a paid one.

I tried almost all control panels, but it depends on your need, your experience and comfort levels. CPanel/WHM is much better and when it comes to pricing it is worth it. As you are using it for personal use, yes it may turn expensive. You can buy a VPS with cpanel / whm free licensce or consider switching to reseller or shared web hosting. This way you do not need to pay extra for CPanel.

By the way, CPanel alternatives out there does work good, but cannot come close to CPanel. I tried everything out there which include vestacp, webmin, virtualmin, senorita, zpanel, and some other as well. I forgot names.

In the free control panels, i found webmin to be much better when it comes to vestacp. I have used vestacp recently on my kvm but it does not played well.

If you host just wordpress websites, think about serverpilot free account, that will make you host wp sites and other cms supported by them in hassle free manner. For emails you can use zoho free plan which comes with 20 free accounts for each domain. This is my suggestion if you are on KVM VDS and your resources are low and budget is low and you do not bother compromising on GUI control panel.

Thanks

We currently utilize cPanel for all of our clients. I've got to say, it's amazing. It has great features for a great price and in my opinion it's totally worth it.

The only other panel that comes to mind is Plesk. I have never had any experience with Plesk myself but from what I've heard and reviews, it's pretty good.

Nothing beats Cpanel. but you can try DirectAdmin which does whatever Cpanel does and it is very cheap!

I use cPanel.

I won't say it's the best or the cheapest but there is a network effect here: it's common and easy to use. Your users are probably more familiar with it so it's going to help reduce technical support and encourage onboarding.

What is DirectAdmin's new theme? I used it in the past but I checked their demo and they still are using old theme as I knew.

We have cPanel and Plesk but for me cPanel is more convenient to manage.
Agreed, but Plesk support Nginx which give your websites run faster than using cPanel.

Seem all users always give cPanel a vote because it is easy to manage/use. :)

I use both Cpanel and plesk and find that yes most of the world know more about Cpanel but the power behind them both are about the same, depending on what you require from it,

they are both easy to use and manage but if you are looking to host then would probably be Cpanel as most of the world already knows about it and quite confidently know how to use it where as plesk yet might be well known it might not be well known to some of your potential clients or customers.
