Cloudflare free vs pro?

What is the difference between free and pro plan from Cloudflare? I am using free plan and it is running as well. Should I upgrade to Clouldflare pro for better performance and security?

From what I can gather, the free version is not really a CDN, just a reverse proxy. Thus if you are looking for CDN you should go for the pay version (or another vendor)

Yeah I read about WAF, it is really a great application in pro plan and I wanted to try it.

I have read comparisons there but I have not used Cloudflare plan pro yet, the description for a feature can be different from using it reality on websites.

I have used PRO version of cloudflare couple of times in the past and doensn't found any difference on PRO and FREE, so always prefer free version over PRO one.

Free stuff normally isn't as good as the pro stuff - hence why it's premium. However, though, the definition of good varies. For instance, some people might say that "on call" help for forum software is good. However, though, other people have no need of it. In that case, they might do just as well on MyBB or phpBB as XenForo. To sum it up, what needs to be looked at is whether or not the extras for CloudFare Premium are stuff that you really need vs something that's a luxury.

As in pro plan, you are going to pay, it has some better features other than the free plan.

1. Pro plan has the optimization facility which speed up your website. It will automatically optimize the images on your site.
2. Both plan has the email support but you will find the response time difference in pro and free plan.
3. As stated in previous replies, WAF (Web application firewall) is provided for the pro plan which prevents the SQL injection attack, XSS and other attacks which used to come from HTTP POST request.
4. Potential customers that is real time traffic can be obtain from the pro plan.

This is what you get with pro plan. For detail, you can login to your Cloudflare free account and see options that just included for pro plan.
Upgrade: it's up to how large your website is. A high traffic need more secure, need premium options, you can try pro.

There's is a difference between free and pro of Cloudfare. Much better if you use pro to use all the benefit of the system unlike for free, only limited features are allowed to use by the subscribers.

CloudFlare doesn`t provide a SLA on a free plan, unfortunately only on Enterprise and Business Plans.

Here are key features of CloudFlare Pro Plan which free plan does not have

Web application firewall
SSL support
Image Optimization

I have around 20 websites using Free cloudflare without any issues, it is very good for speed up websites and protect your websites from ddos attack. I have enough money to use pro cloudflare but I can use when I have a choice
