Just wondering what firewall folks are using for an at home setup, I have a few servers setup at home and I'm used to buying corporate level firewalls what do you use for smaller setups. Cisco or Juniper preferred.

Hardware based network border firewalls are a little overkill for a few servers at home imo.
I would just use a software firewall like CSF on each server.

+1 for what LJSHost suggested. Unless the home servers are critical, in which case they shouldn't be hosted at home ;) then a software solution should work just fine.

Neither of these replies answer my question I'm looking for thoughts on hardware firewalls. If your not using a firewall at home then just don't reply with a solution please, only looking for people who are actually using firewall hardware that can give useful and meaningful responses.

You're not going to find a lot of people that can give useful to this question. Not everyone has servers at home...and if they do, the network can protected a software firewall.

In essence, you could build a small computer to add to your network...install Liniux, and install CSF. Instant "hardware" firewall.

The other reason this is not common...home routers (bought or supplied from an ISP) also have a firewall that can be configured...and many do not run servers at home since most ISP's do not let home users run a "data center" or hosting company on their network.
