This week I noticed a boost in provider here just wondering how much are the providers here paying monthly for there dedicated server or colocation whichever you are doing? Just general information I want to know you don't have to disclose any information if you don't want to.

1. Do you think your overpaying?
2. Do you think you could have more support/management for the price your paying?
3. What type of benefits or discounts are you receiving if any?

This is going to differ from provider to provider. I've seen some stick with purchasing just dedicated servers because some get discounts after the first order and the end cost is helping them save, which will always be the key factor. With colocation, you have a lot of hands on work to include going to the datacenter and installing the server, maintenance etc. You really shouldn't look into colocation until you have a certain number of servers that colocating will be beneficial to you. Buying your own server is not cheap, and running 1 server is not going to be very beneficial but will defiently give you the most control. A lot of colocation that I've seen start at about $99 per month, the space just depends from datacenter to datacenter you'd have to do your research on the location as per location the cost may be differ.

O' I'm not looking for price for myself as in me needing any of the above. I'm just curious as to how people actually feel about the price they are paying with there provider, if they feel they are actually getting what they deserve. I currently do Operations Overseeing at my companies Data Center so always looking to improve off the thoughts of others.

Yes, I believe we are getting the value we expect of our providers. If we weren't, we'd certainly be shopping around. Sounds like an interesting job.

My provider treats me very well. I've been with them for years and the pricing is good and the services they provide are good. I think the longer you are with a host the better they will deal with you when asked. I always ask for a quote now when ordering a new server. So event though they may have a price on their site I ask for the best pricing they can give me, and they give me great deals.
