I like GoDaddy's pricing and used it for years. I want to know who is the best alternative to GoDaddy without paying a premium at registrars like Register dot com and Network Solutions?

I am using domains on Namecheap and I got many discounts when bought domain names there, it's a good alternative to Godaddy.
Otherwise, Name.com is a good domain registrar you should consider using when needed.

No doubt Namecheap is one of the best ... resellerclub is another good domain registrar though its being operated by EIG now but they are good with atleast domain registration part.

Namecheap is popular, and has been for a long time.
NameSilo is a big alternative to GoDaddy and Namecheap due to free WHOIS privacy.
Hover - operated by Tucows.
I tend to use NetEarthOne.

We personally work with Namesilo. After years of using GoDaddy and Namecheap, and seeing how they make business out of your hard work, we would rather work with a company that focuses on the extra service we need and nothing else, which is domain services.

I go back and forth between Namecheap and Godaddy (Every year I transfer the domain for renewal to get a price break).

I'll have to take a look at namesilo, never used them before. The free privacy is a big win.

I am having 5 domains at Namecheap and feeling good with it. I think it is a good alternative to Godaddy.

Just a small issue with Namecheap is I could not set host name to point to an IP address for my special domain extension, I contacted and chatted with the technical support but they could not solve this problem.

have you tried out rival.com for domain registration and they provide quality .ca domain with low pricing as compared to other providers and most of them don't provide .ca extension. they also has option to register .com domains.

I would recommend Enom, Namesilo, Name.com, OnlineNIC, Hexonet, and Uniregistry as quality alternatives. These registrars provide a solid service, if not superior, without trying to upsell around every corner. GoDaddy is big, but fortunately, alternatives do exist.

Sometimes you just gotta go cherry picking, who and what offers what deal.

There are quite a few registrars which offer a more than decent service like internetbs, namesilo, namecheap and from personal experience I would suggest any of those.

The first registrar that I ever used was Domainsite.com back in 2005 they are no longer so I now use name.com and they have become my new favorite domain registrar.

Their pricing is not among the cheapest with the exception of first domain that you register with them at a coupon price and after you have used a coupon at a particular price then you can no longer use one at that price ever since they made some policy changes over a year ago.

Their renewal pricing is definitely higher than many of the top registrars especially since they have done away with regular renewal coupon codes.

This is going to depend on a few things. Personally I want to have great support from a registrar and good prices on domains at registration and renewal. Based on my main wants, Namecheap is my registrar of choice. They have the best support I have ever had from a registrar (and I have used MANY, MANY different registrars) and good prices.

My next choice would be Namesilo and I am basing that on their great prices at both registration and renewals as well as free private registration.

It all comes down to you wants, needs and likes.

Good Luck. ;)

Alternate to godaddy will always be namecheap or Namesilo. Sometimes godaddy is expensive, I think the first year the domain name will be less but when the time comes for renewing then it is higher.

namecheap fan here. Definitely worth a try considering i dont like Gd's upsell system. Plus they have live chat support which is perfect for me.

Another alternative would be internet.bs which is good too imo.

Namesilo all the way, 100% transparent and fair pricing anytime.. Godaddy for cheap domains during sale.. Namesilo, for long term domains that needs fair price for renewals. We use namesilo for all our domains and suggest the same too our customers.
