What is the best and fastest cache system for PHP7?

I have just upgraded forumweb.hosting to latest forum version and upgraded php version to PHP7 but after upgraded, I could not run Memcached cache to serve the forum like before, Xcache didn't work with php7 too.
I am looking for some caching solutions to speed up the loading for webpages. From your experience, what is the best and fastest cache system for PHP 7?
I have install Redis cache server on the VPS but could not install PhpRedis extension to communicate with redis cache server. It is necessary to install PhpRedis extension when installed redis cache server?

That's the same than memcached extension, currently those php extensions are available only using PECL.
That's why I'm using easyengine to make the setup.

Just by running :

ee site create forumweb.hosting --php7 --mysql --letsencrypt

It will setup Nginx, php7, mariadb, redis-server, memcached, and letsencrypt for the SSL.
